Beach Townhouse: A/C Toucan (Kitchenette +)

This new building is a 3 min walk from a gorgeous sandy beach that stretches for 30 kms. The sunsets are stunning. Matapalo is a quiet beach town with a few restaurants & small grocery stores. You'll enjoy the nature sounds at night and the many birds and other wildlife like toucans, sloths, monkeys and salamanders. A short drive North is Quepos and Manuel Antonio national Park. 15 min drive South brings you to Dominical, a small and hip surfer town with shops, yoga, restaurants & surf lessons.

My co-host Fatima is on-site and can help you with any information you might need, including setting up tours to explore the area.

If you enjoy experiencing local culture while still enjoying all the comforts of a modern home then this place is for you! World class surfing, boogie boarding, just relaxing on the beach, bird and wildlife watching, horseback riding, zip lining, delicious local food, Western & European cuisine, unique and popular attractions are at your doorstep. Matapalo is a tiny town, with a few small stores. The beach is pristine, yet to be discovered by most travellers. Close by are the popular tourist destinations of Dominical, a quaint surf town, and Manuel Antonio, an internationally renowned Nature Reserve, known for its diverse wildlife and active restaurant and bar scene. The local restaurants near Matapalo serve delicious food. The nearest "large town" is Quepos, about a 20mn drive away. This is where you will find large supermarkets, pharmacies, clothing stores, hospital, clinic, dentist and so on and an airstrip serviced by Sansa Air to San Jose.

There is local transit but check schedules. Car rentals are available near airports or in nearby Quepos. We recommend those using transit to download the App: PASSER by Passer Technologies. You create an account, add your credit card and book routes and reserve seats online.

Dogs are permitted but we need to know ahead and you must have bedding blanket for the dog to sleep on. If the dog lays on the bed and it can not be cleaned we will charge $100 to replace the bedding.
