My name is Leonard Silinda, born and raised in one of the Districts of Mpumalanga Province called Bushbuckridge, in a small village called Zoeknog, 80 kilometres from Nelspruit.
I worked for the Department of Agriculture for 37 years in the following Provinces of South Africa; Limpopo, Gauteng, Northern Cape and Mpumalanga. My work gave me an opportunity to travel vastly both overseas and in Africa, I formed part of delegations that visited Canada (Saskatchewan), Germany (Hamburg) and Serbia (Novi Sad). In Africa, I toured Kenya, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Lesotho, Egypt and Mozambique. My visits to all these countries and most South African towns made me to fall in love with the hospitality industry especially the tourism. I then took a decision that the day I retire from government, I was going to invest my time and energy in hosting tourists and guests in my own property.
The experience I gained in travelling benefited me and my guests, because in two years that I have been hosting guests I managed to get reviews that are superb in platforms that I listed Lakhe Lethu Apartment. Booking.com gave me an award this year, for achieving a review of 9.7 out 10 in 2025, AirBnB, Lakhe Lethu Apartment stands at 4.5 out 5 and in LekkeSlaap, the apartment’s review is at 4.8 out 5. This to me is an amazing accomplishment especially that I was inexperienced when I got these reviews from guests as a host.
