We had a wonderful 6 night stay in the aptly named, Urban Sanctuary. It's located on a quiet residential street, but is a short walk to shops, groceries and restaurants. We were very busy during our time there, visiting with old friends and sight seeing. It was great to come back 'home' to our apartment and to wake up there each morning. It was comfortable and cozy and Jamie has thought of everything to make staying there easy and relaxing. She shares her knowledge of the area and city and even does a little research to make sure she gives you the most timely information! We highly recommend staying at Urban Sanctuary!

Cute, cozy and comfortable!

Urban sanctuary was as described—we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! Jamie was a wonderful host— we were greeted with a kind note and she was very accommodating. The location was convenient to the bus stop, Aldi and Whole Foods. Thank you Jamie!!

Great Place

Thanks Jamie for the use of your wonderful apt. It was just as pictured. Very nicely decorated. Bed was comfy, kitchen well stocked, even supplied coffee! Close to Union Station and Metro stop.Jamie you were a pleasure to work with and also thanks for your suggestions for dinner! We had a great time in Washington and will return!

Great place and a Great Location

Jamie was a fantastic host! She checked in on us and even brought us some snacks! The apartment was newly remodeled and well put together. We stayed for 7 days while exploring DC. 2 blocks to the “H street Streetcar” that was free and only 3 stops to Union station where you can get anywhere. Also an easy address for Uber drivers to find.

Fantastic Stay!

Stayed here with my college age daughter to move her into her intern housing- clean, comfy, walking distance to capital and store around the corner for grocery needs. It’s also super cute inside! So glad I chose this listing to stay at!

Perfect Location in DC

This location is an easy 15-20 minute walk from Union Station, less than a mile from the US Capitol, and if you are a walker about 2 miles from the end of the Mall. The bus line is just on the corner and Uber is a very close drive to virtually any location in DC. Two blocks over on H Street is a Whole Foods and lots of restaurants. The lodging has everything you will need from a full kitchen, a very quiet washer and dryer, and heated floor bathroom. It is truly a nice quiet place to return at the end of a very busy day.Jamie, the host, was fantastic. She met us when we arrived with a nice bottle of Proseco and extra shampoo. She was available, if needed. There is a white binder with all the information about the apartment and the area. Highly recommend staying here.

Amazing stay - highly recommend

I loved staying here and hope to return on future DC trips. The apartment has everything you would need for stay and the interior design details are inspiring. The bed was very comfortable. I was worried it might be chilly but was pleasantly surprised by the heated floors. Jamie, the owner, was awesome about checking in if I needed anything (which I didn't) and about offering early check in and check out, which was not needed but greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend staying here. Neighborhood is also very quiet and close to public transit to jump to where ever you would need to go.

Research trip

I needed to do research at the National Archives. The space was perfect and there is a great coffee shop on the way to Union Station. The Metro made it easy for me to just fly in and walk for most of my stay. Will stay here again when I come to do research

Urban Sanctuary

Without a doubt one of the nicest homes we have ever stayed at. The room was marvelous. The bed so comfortable. All amenities as described. Our host checked in with us several times to be sure all was well. Never have had a host so attentive to our needs. Thank you Janie!! Would definitely come back again!!

Capital neighborhood condo

Very nice place and neighborhood. Short walk to Supreme Court and Capital. Good street parking. All in all terrific experience for 6 nights, 3 adults. Good communication with owner. Would stay again.

Great spot and great host!

This was the perfect place to stay for a combo work/pleasure trip for my husband and me. The photos in the listing are accurate—this unit was recently remodeled and is very cute and comfortable. We appreciated the warm welcome and stocked kitchen. Jamie was very responsive—a great host!

Great visit!

We enjoyed our stay at Urban Sanctuary on Capitol Hill! It was just as pictured and Jamie was such a kind and responsive hostess! We were able to walk to the Capitol building and Union Station easily from this location and Uber rides were easy to come by too! The basement apartment was very clean and well equipped for our long weekend stay and there was a convenient little market right across the street too. We will definitely stay again next time we are in DC!

This property is exactly as was stated in the description and the pictures. Everything exactly as I would have at home, comfortable linens, clean spaces and appliances, fluffy towels. Perfect place.

Excelent location, great place to stay in DC

The property is very well maintained and located, close to services, transportation, local attractions. It has everything that you may need and all in good conditions, everything worked well and both me and the teenager I stayed with were very happy and comfortable. I highly appreciated the constant communication with Jamie the owner, who was at all times very caring that we had a good experience in the place, and answered immediately to all questions or doubts. I thank Jamie and hope to stay there any time I go back.

Great Week in Washington,D.C.

All the Conveniences & Comfort of Your Own Home

Property was beautiful with heat and a/c, clean, comfortable, fully stocked with anything you might need in a kitchen or bathroom, had a huge tv, had brochures of everything you might want to see during your stay, info on the metro and ubers, a washer and drier. Our host Jamie was lovely and helpful with everything. She even made us cookies!

DC trip

This place is PERFECT ! Walking distance from all forms of transportation, beautiful quiet neighborhood. The home is comfortable and cozy, it included everything needed to get away but still feel at home... small things, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, washer dryer, dishwasher. The host is amazong and full of usefull information, the home has many brochures and maps to help with your trip while you enjoy breakfast in the fully equiped kitchen.... I could go on forever.... BOTTOM LINE: This place ROCKS ! and the host is amazing !

Cozy apartment

We spent a great week in DC celebrating our 20th anniversary. Jamie, our host was attentive and provided great recommendations for restaurants, which we appreciated! The apartment was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Can I tell you about the shower? It was better than my shower at home! We loved our time in our nation’s Capitol and feel we stayed in the perfect spot!

The Perfect Place

We loved this urban sanctuary. It was scrupulously clean and well appointed. Jamie provided a lot of extra touches one wouldn’t normally expect, which made things easier (laundry soap, dishwasher pods, paper towels, tp, etc.). The apartment is beautifully furnished and decorated, and so comfortable. It’s also very conveniently situated to so many kinds of transportation. We got everywhere we needed to go very easily, and we loved having a comfortable, spacious retreat to return to in the evenings.

Cute, Comfy & Convenient

We spent a week seeing the major sights of DC. Appreciated the convenience of being within walking distance to Union Station, which was the hub of our transportation. The apartment is just as shown in the listing. Very colorful, cute and has everything you could need. The bed is super comfy. The shower is great! Washer and dryer allowed us to pack light. Jamie responded very quickly to any questions we had. Very satisfied. Would stay here again.

Urban Sanctuary

This property is well-appointed and seems to have been recently renovated. It is equipped with helpful additional features such as a stand-up mirror next to the king-size bed. The kitchen is spotless and the owner kindly left some edible items for our enjoyment. A large screen across from a comfortable couch enabled viewing of streaming content. The owner was very responsive and helpful.
