This spot is in a great location…it’s so close to the Sanctuary and a nice ride to Freshfields. I highly recommend renting the bikes…they deliver them the day of your stay and pick them up the day of your departure. The kitchen and living room area was so spacious and a great spot for us to entertain. The beds were all so comfortable too.

I would recommend

Awesome location - The house is fine but the location is truly terrific. Definitely rent bikes and beach chairs. Some sort of pool floats would be a nice addition.

Great location!

We selected the property due to its proximity to the beach and it was wonderful being so close. The check-in process was fantastic. The home offered plenty of space and provided a great layout for our family. The kitchen was well stocked and having a grill was excellent. The home was not entirely clean upon our arrival and there were quite a few bugs in the home during our stay.

Our stay at this property was very disappointing. Though the location and proximity to the beach was great, the cleanliness of the house was awful. So much so that we left two nights early to go stay elsewhere. We had to kill about 10 roaches in the house. We found them on the bathroom, bedroom and living room floors, in a bed, and on a bedroom wall. Dishes in the cabinet were still dirty, needing washed by us before use. Chair cushions were dirty. Door frames were rotted and one closet had black mold on the inside of the door and along the back wall. There were hundreds of small ants in one of the bathrooms on the floor. Concerns were expressed to the rental company and they came to spray for pests during our stay. The outdoor area also needs a lot of cleanup! The hot tub/spa would not heat. After a maintenance call and appt our money was refunded for the heating of the spa. I appreciated the communication with the rental company and their willingness to reimburse us for the nights we did not stay, however there was no discount given for the nights we did stay in this gross house. I highly recommend not staying here, it is not maintained well at all and the pictures were deceiving.

We are sorry to hear of your continued disappointment. As you stated, you reported your concerns and our team came to address any pest issues right away. As we are in a wooded barrier island, sometimes a few will make their way in regardless of treatments, and I am pleased to say that nothing excessive has been found here. Our offer to have the property recleaned was not accepted. We strive to ensure all of our properties are maintained, regardless of up-datedness, and that all of our guests are pleased with their stay. It is with that in mind that we did ignore our cancellation policies and offered a refund of half of your stay for you to depart early, as well as an additional $300. We believe that this was fair taking into consideration your disappointment, as well as our teams communication, action and findings in the home, but are sorry that you do not agree with this resolution.

Awesome location, great floor plan

Loved being able to have a short walk to the beach, comfortable beds and prompt responsiveness when we found issues that needed addressed. Easy access to bike trails / plenty of bike storage for 9 bikes we rented. Our group loved the multiple dining rooms for game nights, puzzles and crafts. The open floor plan was great. Each bedroom having its own bathroom with shower was great and the extra half bath convenient. The home was clean - the patio and pool area could use a deep clean / power wash. Spa (hot tub) didn’t work, but manager was more than fair with communicating this before hand and offering us a discount. It was our first time on Kiawah and loved the peace and beauty all around!

Great location, house needs a complete refresh

We booked the house for the pool and hot tub, sadly both were quite dirty when we arrived. The positive was location to the beach, wonderful , a very short walk. The inside of the houses was just old, carpets and furniture were stained, mattresses in all rooms were old and lumpy. Primary bedroom door was constantly stuck and needed The Hulk to push it open. Net, if you don’t care about the inside, this houses is for you!

With the pool companies backed up for days of storms, they were not able to come out to thoroughly clean all of the debris. However, we do ensure there is a skimmer at every home should this incident occur. We are sorry to hear of any other issues with the home as we were not previously made aware of them. I have sent your full comments to our team to review and address as needed.

In Need of a Facelift

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We arrived at 4:15pm (check-in was at 4pm) and the house had not yet been cleaned from the previous renter. It was a horrible welcome. The house itself was very rundown and in need of updates. On the positive side, the pool was very nice and heated. The house was also a close 5 minute walk to the beach. The house itself, however, was not well maintained so I would not choose to stay here again.

Unfortunately, with the amount of homes our housekeeping partners need to clean each Saturday, occasionally one or two get done after 4pm. I do see that we offered to buy your dinner that evening while they housekeeping team cleaned the home. Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a nice week at this home. It was within walking distance of the beach and had a lovely pool. It was also a short drive to Charleston, where we spent a few days sightseeing. We did have difficulty with the keys to lock the door. Also, there were numerous dirty dishes, pans, utensils, and glasses in the cupboards on our arrival. We also found a half eaten pack of cookies on top of the refrigerator. I don't think the house is being cleaned very well between guests. We have rented homes in other locations and have never experienced this. The homes were always very clean and were turned over the same day, just like this one was.

Great location, but...

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First, the location couldn't be beat for the price. Several negatives about the property though. The most concerning was all the mold on the ceilings and vents. Very concerning that my family was breathing that in for a week. The house is in the need of a major overhaul, very dated. Kitchen could use a restock, didn't have all we needed to prepare meals and dishwasher was half broken. Washing machine was very loud and could be heard banging throughout the house. Pool was lovely but deck was broken, a tripping hazard, which did happen to one of us. As much as we loved the locale and price of this house, wouldn't rent again unless redone.

Good house for a group trip

We had a great stay. The house is nicer in person as the ceilings are high and photos don’t capture how spacious the common area is. Lots of bathrooms to accommodate a group. Really good location for the beach and we loved the pool. There were a few bugs but it’s the beach — it’s simply impossible to have no bugs or anything. No real complaints, would return again.

A Memorable Trip

This home is situated on a quiet street and is just steps away from the beach access. Kiawah's beach is the most relaxing place I have ever been. While it's not deserted, there are very few people around your space. The pool at the home was very refreshing and welcomed after a day at the beach. Inside, the beds were comfortable and everything we needed to cook with was supplied.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love vacationing in Kiawah and renting with Akers Ellis. This year's house had a great location on Forestay court, close to the beach. The house itself is very dated, but has a nice pool and the grill and kitchen are very conveniently located. We had a great time and would love to visit this house again...if the following problems can be addressed: The deck does not provide pool access, and the deck's wood is old and un-cared for. The front door steps off the street are also made of the same aged decking wood. The tiles around the pool are shifting and uneven, which makes the circle-shaped filter cover not fit properly; my daughter fell through the cover and banged her knee on the surrounding tile because the cover wasn't secure and spun around when she stepped on it. The master bathroom's jacuzzi/tub was cracked so could not be used. The large towel rack over the master bath tub pulls out of the wall and cannot be used. The master shower had two shower heads, which is nice, but the one on the right shoots water through the on/off handle when turned on, and seems to be ready to break so we didn't use it. Lots of water damage to the ceilings in the main TV room next to the kitchen. Lots of spider webs and spiders on the ceiling corners leading up to the master bedroom. The clothes washing machine leaks and leaves a small puddle on the floor.

House is a short bike ride to beach, has a nice floorplan, but is in need of repairs and updates. Several beds were quite old and uncomfortable, but the master mattress had such extensive wear that there were deep depressions down each side. The front steps were slippery and in need of pressure washing. The roof has obviously had many leaks and there are numerous areas of dark mildew on the ceiling and around the skylights. Patches of the ceiling are peeling. The pool heater will heat either the pool or hot tub, but not both at the same time. Directions on the control pad say to turn off the pool to heat the hot tub.

Splendid Stay

Our time spent on Kiawah is always cherished. We absolutely love the beach which is why this home was so appealing to us. The walk was probably about 2-3 minutes.

Kiawah Island is gorgeous!

Very beautiful and calming place to spend a week. This break from work right before the kids go back to school is exactly what we needed. Can't complain about this home. It is located in a great spot from the beach and has a deck overlooking the pool which made watching the kids easy. Pool is bigger than I expected. Great customer service was also provided through out our stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is in a nice location and close to the beach. The pool is nice. The master bedrooms bed is very soft and sagging in middle and all the pillows in the bedrooms were horrible. Also, in kitchen there is no tupperware in the kitchen to store leftovers or a medium size pot to boil pasta, either too big or too small. Lots of roaches and bugs as well. I'm easy to please and don't mean to be so critical but I think when you are renting a house for that much a week it should be better and more provided at the house maybe even beach towels.

Cannot beat the location!

My family of 10 really enjoyed our first trip to Kiawah. This property was ideal as far as proximity to beach, pool, deck for grilling and bed situation. We definitely recommend renting bikes to explore the island- lots of bike paths. Akers Ellis has a wonderful app full of vital information about Kiawah and Charleston activities and food. We cant wait to come back!

Great!

As usual Akers Ellis was tremendous. We had a couple of questions when we arrived on Saturday and they responded immediately, with courtesy and professionalism. We’ve rented at Kiawah for several years now; always with friends before this trip. This was our first vacation there alone as a family. We love Kiawah, the tranquility, bike trails and of course the beach. The location at 67 Foresty was perfect. We’ve stayed in several houses in the area before and find it very convenient to the things we enjoy the most.

Great price! Great location!

Had a great experience renting through the company and at the home. Really enjoyed how close the home was to the beach and its private pool area. The inside of the home is comfortable and made us feel right at home. Very stress-free trip!
