Beautiful location. Long gravel road to get to the cottage but it has been recently redone and is better than most similar Nova Scotia roads. Figure 15-20 minutes from highway to the cottage. Well worth the trip! The view from the cottage is wonderful; view of the lighthouse and the channel. We saw several ocean going ships heading in and out of Bras d'Or which was a treat. Had one small issue with a stuck door that was immediately tended to; property manager is close at hand but not obtrusive. Highly recommended!

Cute little house on a small pebble beach, next door to the host's house. Though the house was nice, it was 6 miles down a gravel road. Nearest grocery was 40 minutes away. Come prepared!

Hi there, yes we are on a gravel road as outlined on the site and actually the nearest grocery store is 25 min in Baddeck or 25min to North Sydney. Also there is a sm store 10min that has some supplies ( bacon eggs bread grocery items) We are a bit off the beaten track but so is most things in Cape Breton. The beach runs for miles in both directions and can be rocky with sandy spots depending on the last storm. Thank you.

If youre looking for a quiet place with a beautiful ocean view away from the city, this is perfect. They even mowed a path down to the beach below. Great walk and so quiet. Highly recommend and it was close enough to Sydney that we could drive in to do what we needed.

Dauphin Guest House

Although we had a short stay & didn’t spend much time in the house, we did love watching the full moon & sun rises. The house is small but very comfortable. Beautiful setting. The host & his niece were very helpful & kind. I would recommend this home to any one who likes to be a little off the beaten path.

Peaceful location with lovely views of the ocean and easy access to a rocky beach. Owner's house is right next door but they gave us lots of privacy while being available if we needed anything. We didn't cook but the kitchen was well appointed for that. Somewhat remote from restaurants but very manageable if you plan ahead and allow yourself time. Very close to Donelda's puffin cruise which was excellent.
