TERRIBLE. DO NOT STAY HERE
Our rental was cancelled at 1.30am on the day of our arrival. We were asleep at that time (as most people are at 1.30am), and that day we were traveling to visit our dying father. This added extreme stress to an already sad and stressful situation. The owner was not contactable. A couple of days before the rental I messaged twice and tried to call. The phone number didn't work and no one responded, so I reached out to VRBO customer service. They tried to contact the owner with no success. They said we could show up at the rental and if we couldn't get in then they would help us find another rental. This is not acceptable! We were not on a day trip, we were flying in with 2 kids to see their granddad one last time. We tried to find another rental with a comparable price on an acceptable platform to VRBO in between packing, driving to the airport, flying, picking up a rental car, etc. but could not find an alternative on a VRBO approved platform in our price range. We were told we could not use the other well known alternative if we wanted to be reimbursed for the difference in rental price, which really limited our options.VRBO did eventually reach the owner (how?) and we were told the cancellation was due to a natural disaster or rental damage, or because the owner was locked out of her account. Well, which was it? None, probably. It was Semana Santos that week so my guess is she probably got a better offer. My advice, STAY AWAY if you want to be sure of a bed for the night.
