Not able to reach the host via messaging or phone. I was on the phone over two hours with VRBO trying to verify if we had a home to stay in or not. . . . booked in December, credit card charged, then no response from the host. VRBO had a hard time contacting the host. VRBO finally got in contact day before check in and said host would contact me day of in the morning. . . . . would not recommend this host.

The house had what we needed, adequate bed and baths for a family of adult children in town to celebrate a wedding. However, I didn't receive check in instructions until after I asked and was already en route to our destination. The check in instructions described it as a shoe free household (which would have been nice to know before so we could have packed appropriate slippers) However the carpet was so stained and dirty. And not from shoes but multiple spills and accumulated dirt. The cleaning service was well done (bathrooms and linens) but the home has definitely not been well maintained - dated and disintegrating window coverings that were held together with hangers. Certainly not the environment expected based on neighborhood and price.

Our stay here was very disappointing and the listing felt like false advertising. When we arrived, the condition of the home was far from what the photos showed. The carpet throughout the house was heavily stained and looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time.Every night we saw roaches coming out of the kitchen sink area. In the bathroom there were used barsoaps left behind and we even found a small piece of glass on the floor in one of the rooms, which was especially concerning since we were traveling with small children and babies.There was also an empty refrigerator in the laundry room that smelled like old shrimp or seafood, which wasn’t in their picture. The garage was completely filled with items, and we weren’t given any notice that there would be no parking space available. A heads-up about that would have been appreciated. Outside, the kids’ slide had cobwebs all over it, suggesting it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The trash can was already about halfway full when we arrived, and by the time we left there wasn’t enough room for our trash bags, so some ended up on the ground as well. The pool table was also worn out and in rough condition. We contacted the owner the following day to raise these concerns. The response was vague, saying they would come inspect the property, but many of these issues—like the long-term carpet stains and the roaches that come out were obvious problems that should have been addressed before guests arrived. Dirty.
