Welcome to The Hearth, a high-end mountain retreat designed for families and nature lovers seeking both adventure and relaxation. Set on 8 private acres in the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains, this spacious lodge offers two separate units plus a dedicated bunk room, providing privacy, entertainment, and plenty of space for your group to gather.

*October 2025 - Upgraded internet - Starlink Gen 3 router plus mesh system installed for improved speed and coverage over the entire property

Main Unit:
🔥 Primary suite with King + loft (2 king beds & private bath)

(No bathroom in this building)

Step outside to enjoy the two serene ponds with canoes & fishing, or explore exclusive hiking trails leading to hidden waterfalls (Bedrock Falls & Exit Falls). Only six homes have access to these trails—and this is the only one welcoming guests!

We had a wonderful time! The home has lots of beds, the kitchen is very well stocked, and there are plenty of bathrooms. There is a lot to do in Cashiers. We really enjoyed the park, local waterfall walks and the brewery. We went to the Highlands Outpost for tubing and had a blast! We started the private trails but were not able to complete them in the winter due to needing waterproof boots for the river crossing. We wish we could have done this! Our kids really enjoyed the bunk house. A few things to know include the lowest floor does not have indoor steps to the main house in the 2nd level. You must use the outside steps. The kitchen/living in the 2nd floor is smaller than expected but we managed a full Thanksgiving dinner with 15 people. The lighting in the master bathroom is very dim. We had a couple of internet issues but Darin was very responsive to try and correct this. We had a great stay and loved the area.

Unique stay with tons of recreation at your fingertips

This cabin was just what we needed for our family. We loved the location being close to hikes and lakes. Got to explore the area a lot during our visit. It was quiet and comfortable.We had no cell service in the area, but the wi fi was great. My husband and my son both needed to work while we were visiting. My husband set his office up in the downstairs suite and my son set his up in the game room. Both were able to work without any issues. Host was responsive to our questions, and we found his guidebook helpful. We took the hikes on the private trails and really enjoyed them-- I recommend this place if you are looking for a central location to explore Cashiers, Highland, Sapphire in NC or Lake Jocassee in SC. We would rent this property again if we are in the area.

We had our fall family vacation here to celebrate October birthdays. Disappointed that the description of the cabin didn’t mention the upstairs and downstairs areas are not accessible from the inside. The living room or kitchen didn’t accommodate 10 family members so we ate all meals outside on the upper deck. Bathrooms were clean but lacked hot water at the sink in the loft bathroom. Host was quick to respond when needed.
