Beautiful Beachfront Vacation

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this villa very much! We took a taxi to the villa when we arrived because it was so dark due to plane delay. We had the taxi driver pick us up the next day and take us to the car rental. Best decision ever because it was difficult to find at 10PM. The villa was everything we hoped it would be. So comfortable and lots of places to rest and relax. The pool was wonderful and the beach was steps away! Loved listening to the waves as it lulled us to sleep at night. The bed was very comfortable!The patio had a Weber grill that we used most nights. We never figured out how to work the lights outside by the grill but the flashlight on our phone served the purpose.The location of the house was perfect for going into Cupecoy or Margot; about 10-15 in each direction. We really hated leaving yesterday. Our week was absolutely perfect and we wished we could have changed our schedule and stayed another week. When we come back it will definitely be for two weeks!

Perfection on the Beach!

This place is truly perfect. The house is beautiful with plenty of room and the most amazing sunsets in the world. The beach is stunning and pretty well private. And it is only a few steps from your own private pool. The check-in process was easy and the owner communication was great. They even provide cleaning services for both the house and pool while you are there. It is truly perfection on the beach and we will be back. Thank you for sharing this amazing home with our family.

Had a great holiday at this beachfront property with a fabulous pool and landscaping. Extremely private but close driving to all you might need or want. Host gave excellent recommendations on grocery, restaurants and activities . Spacious enough for multi-generations to all have space. Worked with WiFi with no issues. Spectacular sunsets! You cannot go wrong!

Amazing Time!!

If I could buy this place and retire here, I would. The beach and pool were amazing! I miss going to sleep hearing the waves crash at night. All good things about this place!! The only thing that could make it a bit better would be AC installed in the main house. I highly recommend this place to anyone coming to St Maarten as we had the best time!

Magnificent Plum Bay Villa

This dazzling huge villa is located right in the middle of the magnificent Plum Bay. The Le Terres Basses area is located inside a barrier guarded by a 24-hour security service. After sunset, the public beach will also be closed and only residents of the villas will be able to visit the beach. The area is completely safe. You can sleep with the door open and no one will bother you. Brilliant cleanliness greeted us. Our complaint can be nothing, because everything happened in the greatest order. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a huge fridge in which you can pack plenty of food. We felt great. We were satisfied with everything. The villa's exit to the sea is to the west, where you can watch the sunset every day with admiration. It also provided great swimming opportunities in Plum Bay. We travel a lot in the world but we have to say we were enchanted by this place and the villa. We look forward to returning to this villa in Plum Bay again. Thank you to the owner for giving us this opportunity to be a part of this magical part.

Great beach front property!

The house was well cared for,comfortable for 3 couples and would even work for a big family, there was lots of space! Beach and pool were gorgeous. We will definitely stay there again!

Great Location!

We have been traveling to St Martin since 1996 and have always wanted to rent this villa. We finally got it. You could not ask for a better location on the island. The house is an older beach home that is very clean and well kept. The house manager Gordon, was great to deal with and made sure we were happy with our stay. The only things I could constructively criticize would be the air conditioners barely worked, so we chose to sleep upstairs without a/c. Worked out fine but would have preferred a/c. Also it would be nice to have a fence between pool area and small house next door. That would provide complete privacy. Easy fixes. I would recommend this property.

Will not stay again.

When I first entered Les Terres Basses you have to go through security which is great but as you turn your immediate left to find your villa it's gets confusing as the number does not go up or down numerically at all, you will eventually find it, just keep driving and look out for your number, the villa is right beside Donald trumps villa if you do get lost just tell someone. Once we finally do get to the place, the entrance and the exterior of the place is very old and not maintenance at all. Once I walked inside, the house was clean and huge. The interior still needs to be updated. We had a party of 4 but could fit about 10 more ppl to sleep. We walked to the pool section, and oh my god the pool was so filthy it was so heartbreaking cause the picture was a lot better than reality. Steve who works there and also lives right next store to us with his wife who also is the cleaner we're very nice and made sure the pool gets taken care of. The pool boy showed up within an hour. After he left he looked a little better. The ocean is beautiful, behind the house. It's not a sandy beach behind you, it's all rocks so be careful. We did enjoy the ocean a lot more though, my party and I did snorkel everyday which the gears were provided and it was fun and felt a lot nicer than the pool. A lot of bugs inside and outside of the house so make sure doors are closed tightly. No AC only in the 2 bedrooms down stairs which was low working AC. Overall it was An average experience, Steve and his wife were wonderful but I would not recommend this villa or come back. Be warned the picture is definitely better looking as the sun goes down and you can't see all that is wrong with it.

this property is a fabulous treasure

We spent a week with 3 adult children and my husband myself and my 3 siblings and a spouse. The house is comfortable and roomy and easily accommodated all 9 of us. Once you step outside the back door you have stepped beyond nice to absolutely fabulous. The house is right on the sea. The sandy beach is steps from the back door. Right outside the back door is a well furnished covered patio where you can sit and watch the ocean and the sunsets. We ate most of our meals here. A stone path leads to a small pool overlooking the ocean and a setting of patio furniture fronting the ocean. The beach is amazing! St Marten is fairly built up and on many of the nice beaches you will find rows of beach chair and lots of people. Plum beach is secluded and there are very few people at this beach. It feels like you have a private seaside paradise. There is nice snorkeling just in front of the house ( enter the water a couple hundred yards down where the rocks are smooth and flat and entry is easy). I cannot believe that we lucked out and were able to rent this very private very nice house in the most amazing setting you can imagine!

Great outdoor space!

We had a wonderful time at this villa. It was so nice to be able to eat breakfast outside each morning looking out at the beach. The outdoor space is really wonderful. We wondered about the one bedroom without air conditioning, but my sister and I shared that one and were perfectly comfortable--we got a nice breeze! Also just want to give a shout-out to the great bookshelves! Read a few good books while we were there and left some of our own behind for future travelers!

The VEEEERY BEEEEST

We just got back from our wonderful stay here at Terre Basse. The location is amazing and you would never have to leave except to get groceries!!. Very private views amazing, especially sunset. Sharlene was good about checking on us during our stay. We rented car to check out island. Best restaurants are on French side. The home was very comfy and had everything you would need at your finger tips. The only way you could improve is if you included us on your trip. This place is GREAT!!!!!

Paradise Found!

We stayed here with a group of 5 adults and 1 child and we all fell in love with the house! While one of the fun things about St Martin is exploring all the amazing beaches, it was SO wonderful to have our home-base right on a beautiful beach with our own private pool. The house is older but was super clean, nicely decorated and had lots of comfy furniture. We pretty much lived on the covered porch and by/in the pool! Sharlene stopped by every few days to clean for us and was super nice! You will need your own car for transportation but its a good location for getting to both the Dutch and French side of the island. Definitely recommend!!

Absolutely the Best Location on St. Martin

While the Terres Basses Villa may not be as modern or as flashy as other island properties, its total privacy, comfortable bedrooms, ocean front pool and location on Plum Beach MORE than compensate. We would not hesitate to recommend the villa to anyone travelling as a couple, or with a small group of friends or family. The villa is within easy reach of the new grocery store in Cupacoy Beach, and its clubs and casinos; and is only a short 10 minute drive from the main airport. But be warned, while your intentions may be to tour and explore the island, the charms of the villa, and the incredible sunsets, make it a hard place to leave. As we said in the review title the location of this villa simply cannot be beat. Thanks for a great stay.

Spectacular Setting

My wife and I have been to St. Maarten many times, always staying in Simpson Bay. We decided on a last minute trip and invited another couple who had not been to St. Maarten to join us for a stay at this home on Plum Bay. We expected to show them the many beaches we have previously visited. The setting was so spectacular at this home that we never left. The pool and patio at the edge of the beach provide a view you will not forget. There are rocks along the oceans edge, but don't be deterred, once we went in the ocean we realized the entry and exit was not difficult at all. We took daily walks around the bend to Long Bay, occasionally running into one other couple. We had couples massages on the huge 2nd floor screened porch. The owner was great to deal with and emailed us during our stay to make sure everything was OK and that the new internet service was working (it worked fine). The home did not have a clothes dryer. If you are looking for a beach vacation on a mostly private beach, you won't be disappointed. We would return in a heartbeat.

Excellent stay

We stayed at the house over the Christmas holiday. The house was clean and felt like home. The pool area and patio were excellent provided just the right amount of privacy. The beach was beautiful and quiet. Just what we were looking for. Terres Basses has a has a guarded entrance so we felt very safe in the area and on the beach. The home is close to grocery and other amenities. Only 30 minutes from Grand Case and 15 minutes to Philipsburg. I would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Stay

Home was just as advertised. Shared with 4 couples and had plenty of room. Pool and views were outstanding. We traveled the whole island from the home with little trouble. Plenty of towels and furnishings were quite comfortable. We will be back.

So cool!

WE absolutley LOVED the outdoor area! It wa so nice to be right on the beach..we spent so much time outside in the expansive patio area. The housekeeper (Charlene) was wonderful. Kept the house very clean and attended to our other needs like filling the propoane tank for the grill. Great location to both sides of the island. The only negative was not have internet access.

Perfect Vacation Rental

This was our first time renting a vacation home so it felt "perfect" for us (2 families, 9 of us), especially in comparison to the all-inclusives that we've been to! Spacious, clean, private, well maintained and very comfortable is how i would describe this home. It is very easy to feel at home and relaxed here because there is so much room to either spread out and do your own thing or do something together with everyone if you want. The pictures & description are accurate but as other reviewers have said, they just don't it justice! The owner, caretaker, & property manager were all very helpful and responsive in answering questions and responding to requests. I would however recommend that they provide an on-site binder with helpful tips & instructions in order to get the most out of your stay (where to find things etc.) We spent most of our days in the pool/beach & patio area and evenings either watching movies, playing games, or going out for dinner. This place is perfect for that kind of relaxation!

Great St Martin beach retreat

Our family of four adults stayed in this lovely villa for two weeks in May. The location is excellent. We loved the quiet beach & it has lovely grounds. It more than met our expectations. There is lots of space indoors and out. The screened veranda upstairs is a lovely place to have dinner. The pool is lovely and well maintained. We would have rated it "very good" overall but that wasn't an option. The housekeeping was excellent & the caretakers helpful. We haven't rated it as "excellent" for a number of small reasons: one of the bedrooms was poorly furnished (I believe it has now been updated), the pots and pans & fridge could do with an update and the TV and sound system weren't working when we arrived. When we contacted the manager he had everything fixed in three days. It would have been nice to have it working from the start. It would be helpful to have a book that explains how the TV satellite system works, where flashlights can be found (useful when there is a power outage) etc. These were minor irritations. This villa has a great island feel. We've visited St Martin many times and this was our favourite place.

Superb location

Fantastic location, shady garden, on a quiet beach, everything you need for a relaxing, peaceful holiday. The house is comfortably furnished, with plenty of seating in a variety of locations. The staff are friendly and helpful. We did need some items replaced and the property manager looked after them in a timely manner. The photos do reflect the appearance & amenities of the property. I would definitely recommend the property to my friends and family. I hope we will be able to spend another holiday there.

Everything and More for a Great Vacation!

The villa is just footsteps to the ocean with a great beach and great snorkeling. The sunsets are magnificent most every night. If you are lucky to be there during a full moon, as we were, that too is an awesome view over the ocean. A night swim in the pool allows you an opportunity to see all the beautiful stars above. Then retire to the sound of the waves for a peaceful sleep. The villa is clean and equipped with everything you need. Our favorite room was the screened second floor porch. We had dinner there most every evening; as we enjoyed the beautiful sound of the crashing waves. Our favorite place to eat was in Simpson Bay at Caribbean Grilled Flavors. We highly recommend if you enjoy creole and local flavor; along with the music of live steel drums. The French bakeries are delicious. We recommend Sarafina's in Marigot or The Taste Factory in Simpson Bay. And, they both have WiFi. We highly recommend the villa if you truly want to experience a casual and relaxed atmosphere. The villa offers total privacy in the patio and pool area. And, for the most part, the beach is semi-private. We had a wonderful time and plan to return. It is awesome for just two or the whole family.

Great St. Maarten Experience!

We had an amazing trip...much impart to this beach front villa we stayed at! We were in St. Maarten for a week and could have stayed much longer. The villa was very spacious but comfy. You couldn't ask for a better location...just a few feet from the ocean and what felt like a private beach. The listing description was very accurate...The house was very clean and it was wonderul having someone come in every day to tidy up. I would 100% refer this place to family and friends and would 100% stay at this villa again!
