Enjoy a naturally cool, tucked-away vibe year-round with your own private entrance—perfect for weekend getaways, extended stays, or work trips.

The Chill Cellar is a stylish 2-bedroom, 1-bath retreat located in the heart of Detroit, just minutes from downtown. Thoughtfully designed, this cozy space offers:

• 2 comfortable bedrooms (each with a queen bed)

• Modern full bathroom with fresh towels and essentials

• Fully equipped kitchen with cookware, coffee maker, and dining space

• Inviting living room with smart TV and streaming access

• Private washer & dryer for your convenience

Guests enjoy exclusive use of the entire basement apartment, including the bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, and living room. Free parking is available at the back of the property. Entry is self check-in with a secure keypad code provided before arrival.

I respect your privacy but am always available if you need anything. You can reach me easily through the Airbnb app, and I’m happy to provide local recommendations to make your stay memorable.

I stayed with my fiancé and his sister for 2 weekend nights, and we had a mostly positive experience. The unit was clean, but there was a musty smell to it that we noted as soon as we walked in. It is in a basement, so that’s the likely reason. The host graciously provided a dehumidifier and an air purifier to help with that issue. A major drawback for us was that the people above us were very loud and inconsiderate during our stay. It sounded like they were having a get together at one point, but we heard running/stomping back and forth across the floors at all hours of the day. My future sister in law informed me that they woke her up at 4am on Sunday morning stomping and laughing loudly from above. I don’t know if they’re full time residents on the property or if they were also guests, but we felt that needed to be mentioned just in case. A couple positives to note were that the beds were very comfortable and the shower water pressure/temp was fantastic the price for the stay was also very reasonable.

Grand Boulevard, envisioned in the late 19th century, was designed as a scenic loop around the city, completed in 1913, and became a showcase of Detroit’s architectural beauty.

Islandview is a scenic neighborhood brimming with historic character, situated about three miles east of Downtown Detroit.

For recreation, the Butzel Family Recreation Center and Playground offer community activities and green spaces.

The nearby East Grand Boulevard Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999, features architectural gems like the El Tovar Apartments, an Art Deco masterpiece built in 1928.

Just a short drive away, Belle Isle Park provides a vast island retreat with attractions such as the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and the Belle Isle Aquarium.
