**Bananas Guesthouse is situated in the heart of the lively and colorful Esperanza, where the culture and spirited atmosphere of the neighborhood truly shines. This is a vibrant neighborhood, please be aware that there may be some noise from surrounding activities, which is beyond our control.

The energy in the area peaks during major holidays and special events, including:
• Thanksgiving
• Christmas
• New Year’s Eve
• Mardi Gras
• Carnival
• Memorial Day Weekend
• Independence Day

While this lively environment contributes to the charm and character of the location, we understand that it may not be ideal for everyone. We encourage you to read guest reviews to get a sense of the occasional street noise.

For your convenience, we will provide a reminder about potential noise both in our welcome message and once again during check-in.

Please note that cancellations due to noise during your stay will not be eligible for a refund. However, we are happy to assist you in finding alternative accommodations if necessary.

We welcome you to come join us on our little island of paradise and experience all the beauty, excitement and atmosphere we have to offer!**

Its a old style room with yellow color walls. The restroom doors have gaps. The host understood the situation and refunded us money for the issue we faced with the checkin.Great location but if you are looking for a modern style property then this is not the ONE. This is an old style property (old old). There were roaches too in the room.

Check in and check out was easy. Convenient location with free parking right outside. Connected to a restaurant with good food and super friendly staff. Location was safe and close to everything in Esparanza. Room was basic but AC worked great. We would stay here again.
In front of restaurant, rooms through restaurant.
Right outside our room. Restaurant entrance right behind them.

My family and I loved being conveniently close to all of our activities. We were within walking distance to the meet up location for our Bioluminescent tour & the best restaurant/bars in Esperanza. Internet connection was great and the room was really comfortable. The room seemed clean at first glance but the floor & bathroom were filthy.

The room was fine. It was clean for the most part. The bathroom had a gross sour smell and ants. The a/c worked well. Two beds had cheap spring mattresses; one had memory foam. The restaurant has mediocre food at inflated prices. The waitress got agitated when we tried to apply a custom tip. She wanted us to pick one of the preset tips set at 14% and higher. A different employee (maybe a manager) was very rude and aggressive. Constantly raising her voice at employees and patrons.

Great location

A location could not have been better with several restaurants within walking distance. The host could have communicated better. I was confused about parking and when I asked a question I never received a response. The room was very clean and was exactly what we needed with beds, air conditioning and a shower.

Check in could have been better

Host never answered when we asked where we could leave our luggage,as previously mentioned, when we arrived via ferry so that was completely ignored. Was eager to check into the place after a long day at the beach only to arrive to our lock box and there be no key. This definitely got frustrating as we needed the key to open the gates once our excursion was done as it would be done late. Took a while for host to return message and spoke with a travel agent to speak to the owner. She was not the nicest as there was a lot of attitude when spoken to regarding a key only to realize it in fact was in their LOCKED box NOT ours. Overall not bad for what you’re paying but absolutely horrible check in. Should definitely make sure keys are properly placed in their spot prior to hosting guests next time :)
