This 1900s house is a classic charm to the neighborhood with its well established gardens, two large side lots and old wide pine flooring. It is the perfect space for a couple or small family looking to get away and enjoy a stay in Midcoast Maine. The idyllic neighborhood setting and beautifully curated cottage decor provides a great Maine coast retreat close to dining, shopping, and sightseeing. It is located right off Rockport Harbor and only 1/4 mile from the public dock and beach, but has easy walking trails along the harbor up Beauchamp Point where you can find entry points to swimming holes off large granite boulders.
You have off street parking to accommodate two cars. When you enter, you will be in the dining/living room area. There is also a small kitchen to prepare any meals for your family. In the front side of the home, there is a large den with a pull out couch and TV. Off the back side of the den is a full bathroom with a 3/4 shower stall. Up the steeper staircase, you will find bedrooms on either side - one with a queen bedroom with AC pump and the other with two twin beds and an en suite full bathroom. Back in the living room, if you travel down a beautiful glass corridor you will be in another breezeway and up the stairs is a wonderful queen bedroom overlooking the gardens with its own full bathroom and AC.
Situated at the head of Rockport Harbor, this property is conveniently located to all that Camden/Rockport area has to offer. Small and beautiful Rockport is on the west side of Penobscot Bay, between Rockland and Camden. You can talk to the lobster monger, the lobstermen, watch them in action, and even buy lobster right from the dock. Launch a kayak from the dock in the harbor nearby and paddle the harbor, keeping a watchful eye out for harbor seals. Nearby walks take you past Aldermere Farm and the famous banded cows via the Lily Pond trail through to Camden’s Chestnut historic district. The house is a true oasis from the fast-paced life and a portal to a restorative and peaceful holiday. You will relish the splendor of the majestic gardens while taking in the breeze from the harbor just across the road.
