We had a very nice, relaxing 3 night stay! Host was very responsive and even left an Easter basket full of goodies. The back porch was my favorite part! We sat out there to eat, play games (host left 2 baskets of fun family games for us), and read. The fishing pond was stocked (which my boys loved!) the grass was trimmed nicely around it which was appreciated. We were the first guest of the season, so things were a little dusty. The fans and vents especially were. The house is old, which we were made aware of. There are lots of candles around to help mask the “old house” smell. We spent most of our time outdoors fishing or driving to Mammoth Cave, so we weren’t too bothered by it. I had planned to use the portable washer and dryer, but there weren’t explicit directions and it seemed complicated so I decided against it. The king bed was SO comfy!! It was perfect after a day of hiking. The other bedrooms didn’t have the same type mattress, but our kids didn’t complain. The only real complaint I had about the rental was the open alcohol bottles. There were 8-9 bottles of liquor on the back porch and inside. Thankfully, our teenagers know better, but it was accessible to them which we didn’t like.
