Wonderfull

Perfectly located at the gateway to Skye, the small town of Dornie has two places for dinner, a beautiful trail at the end of the street, and its own personal castle the Eilean Donan. The house itself is put together in a very modern and convenient way, the beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. Quiet and great views all around.Great stay overall.

What an amazing stay in Dornie! The cottage is perfect size for our large family of 6, everything is very clean. As American I appreciate having a washer AND a dryer on the property :) We stayed for 5 nights and mostly explored Skye, but on one rainy day we stayed in and relaxed, played games and it was so relaxing. The view is amazing. Definitely recommend!

Beautify Location and Very Roomy

We loved our stay here. Check in was a breeze and the owner was very responsive. The house is immaculate and very comfortable. There was a great view of the loch and a short walk to the pub. I'd definitely stay here again.

Amazing Property in a beautiful part of the world

This is an area of Scotland that we have visited many times and it never fails to amaze me The cottage was spotlessly clean and is beautifully decorated. Great floorplan - very clean and thought of everything!

Great property for 3 adults and 3 kids. Plenty of space for everyone, huge kitchen and washer & SEPARATE dryer that actually works (not a combo unit that leaves your clothes wet). Very close to the castle and easy drive to Skye. Loved our stay. Thanks!

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location

Ian the host is extremely helpful and communicative. The cottage is perfectly located for the mainland and Skye, and is warm, cosy and well equipped. You could spend a couple of weeks just watching the light change on the loch outside the window.

Wonderful and relaxing location

We had a great vacation in the cottage. The location is unbelievable--looking out on a quiet loch, yet only minutes from the best castle in the region. The cottage had everything in the kitchen we could need, and the beds were comfortable and cozy. Ian, the host was very helpful in communicating, though we had no problems that needed attention. Highland Heaven

We enjoyed 10 days in this wonderful house. Beautiful scenery from the home. Lake view was stunning. Quaint village with friendly people and fun pub, all within walking distance. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to the Highlands. Convenient to Skye.

My dream holiday in the highlands of Scotland

Ian’s home was absolutely beautiful with an even better view of the loch. The neighborhood and small village of Dornie were quaint & peaceful with friendly folk. It was an easy drive to The Isle of Skye and nearby towns. If you did not want to travel around, you could be content just strolling the lovely lane along the loch or listen to the sheep calling to their babies or simply enjoying the amazing views outside any of the windows of Ian’s home. I highly recommend this property!!!!

Wonderful "Cottage" in the Highlands

The house in Dornie far exceeded our expectations. The house is large and lovely, with a great view out the windows on the front of the house. We found the house to be very clean, organised, well outfitted, and located in wonderful surroundings. We especially appreciated the detailed instructions about anything we needed to use in the house (washer, dryer, heating, dishwasher, etc.) Being based in Dornie is a great place when you are planning to explore the Isle of Skye. We definitely recommend walking to The Clachan (about a 5 minute walk from the house). The Clachan is a great pub! We are already talking about visiting Scotland again. We would love to stay in the Dornie cottage again.

Perfect find in a beautiful location

This cottage was even better than we anticipated or had seen online. It is a huge home and was just perfect for the six of us. The location is so beautiful and serene and is a great base for exploring Isle of Skye and the Highlands. We enjoyed lots of walks around there area. The Clachan restaurant nearby was excellent and coffee at the Old School Gallery was spot on! Washing machine and a dryer and drying room were very welcome as we had been on the road for 4 weeks! The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Well equipped kitchen. Highly recommended and the owner was very easy to deal with.

Brilliant cottage, highly recommend

This property was spotless on arrival. Very spacious and the layout was excellent, entrance area to take off shoes, with a downstairs toilet. This then went into a laundry room then a simply fantastic drying room that did exactly as it said (and very efficiently). The kitchen was large, well equipped. The bedrooms were spacious and the living room was comfortable. It is situated in a quiet, very pretty spot 15 mins walk from Eilean Donan castle. Loads of things to do,we explored Skye quite a bit. I would recommend the boat trip from Elgol to Loch Coruisk with Misty Isle boats. We went on the 3 hour trip and it wasnt long enough as the Loch was so beautiful and lots of climbing and walking available. The kids wore waterproof sandals and made the most of them in the crystal clear water! We were blessed with excellent weather too, but even the odd day we stayed in with the plentiful books and games there. Oh, another really good thing. All the "necessities" like toilet roll, kitchen roll, kitchen spray, handwash, bin bags, dishwasher tablets were all provided which was excellent. We loved our stay, it was a home from home and there is nothing bad to say at all. We didnt even really get "midged" which we came prepared for. Thank you Ian for allowing us to share your beautiful home.

Toller Aufenthalt

Das Haus liegt super ruhig und sehr idyllisch. Der Blick aus jedem Zimmer auf das Loch Long ist traumhaft. Wir haben uns gleich wohl gefühlt. Auch als Ausgangslage für unsere Ausflüge u.a. auf die Isle of Skye, nach Plockton und verschiedene Wanderungen ist das Haus rundum zu empfehlen.

Perfect

This is a huge house that overlooks a loch. Everything you need for cooking. Comfortable beds and separate washer and dryer. Excellent communication. Couldn't ask for more. Try The Clachan a little pub about a half mile away that has fantastic meals. You will need reservation.
