Spencer was quick to respond to an inquiry. The place was a quick walk downtown to shops and restaurants. Our stay was cozy and we enjoyed sitting out by the fire with our dogs each evening in the fenced in yard.

There were no surprises. The backyard was great for my dogs and the neighborhood was really quiet. It was no more than 5-10 minute drive to anywhere you want to go. The house was clean. The bathroom was spectacular.

Though the house was nice the owner/host was incredibly rude. We were locked out of house after getting some food. We called and messaged several times, at one point he actuality picked up the phone laughed then hung up. When we finally got a hold of him we were told we had to leave due to us beimg frantic. Of course we were frantic, 2 women over 50, with a dog, in a place we've never been are being told that we can not get our stuff from the inside while sundown wasn't to far. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. Luckily my sister was able to get in to retrieve our belongings. I thought for sure i was going to have to call the police, honestly wanted to make a report regardless as the owner ruined our mini vacation to Michigan and treated us like scum of the earth.

Was a nice home overall. Was a little disappointed with how overgrown and dirty the backyard was, especially compared to the listing photos. Our dog was a bit skittish with the amount of weeds, but she figured it out. FYI for future renters, there is no deadbolt on the front door, just the doorknob lock. The neighborhood seemed super safe, but felt it was worth mentioning if the sense of security is a deal breaker. The bugs were noticeable inside the home. Might just be the time of year or it being an older house, but there were several spiders on the 2nd floor and in the main bedroom. Also had either silverfish or ear wigs, not sure what they were. The host was very responsive and informative. P.S. Don't be alarmed by the shirtless, shoeless neighbor, he was very friendly.
