Nice, clean cabin well outside of town --about 20 minutes to the main tourist areas-- but close enough to enjoy what town had to offer as well. It was nice to sit on the deck and listen to the birds and the river with only occasional traffic sounds. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful

My husband and I just got married last Saturday and we stayed at River Sounds for our honeymoon this past week. We have nothing but good things to say about the cabin! It was easy to find, very clean, secluded, quiet, and it felt very homey. We had an amazing stay and I would recommend this cabin to anyone for any occasion!! Made our honeymoon dreams come true!

Such a nice place!

My husband and I stayed here for a few days, for a quiet getaway. Everything was clean, and it’s not too hard to get to! The view isn’t the best, but when you sit outside on the back deck, you can hear the water running from the creek nearby. It’s beautiful and secluded just enough for a bit of privacy. We would recommend it to anyone!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay; beautiful remote area that really allows you to relax. There are a few things that need attended to and we called the management office to let them know. Overall, the cabin was clean and ready for us when we checked in and we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend, but perhaps not during cold months as the doors and windows are drafty.

To many things wrong

Jet tub would not hold water. Hot tub jets were not good. Could not see or get to river. Power was out for 7hours and we had no candles or any other type of emergency light. I would not recommend this cabin.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We called the office to let them know we were stuck in traffic and they let us know several guests had called for the same reason. The staff kept the office open an extra 2 hours and we we checked in as graciously as if we were there at 4. The hot tub was already warm and the cabin was fresh and clean. The river was so beautiful to listen to from the deck and gorgeous to watch from a little strip near the road. We even had a racoon great us the first night! Will definitely be back.

The only changes I would make are these: there needs to be a step up to the front porch (maybe just some stepping stones). The porch is too high for one step for people with bad knees. The other is there needs to be a step up to the hot tub. Short people are really at a disadvantage trying to get in. But we hated to leave. It was soooo peaceful and beautiful. Cindy Hartman

The blankets and sheets were musty. There were roaches seen in the bathroom and kitchen. The bedroom tv wasn’t set up working when we arrived. I mentioned the covers and sheets to the cabin rental place through text and they had someone just bring replacement sheets. We had to buy detergent to wash the pillow covers and throw blankets because the comforters smelled so bad. There was no dish soap. The cabin rental place didn’t offer to have someone fix the tv. I was expecting riverside but we could only hear the river. I expected a grill on the back porch like in the pictures but there was one unloveable grill in the front of the cabin.

Inaccurate information

First off, I could not believe there was no wi-fi in the cabin. There was Dish Satellite, but we lost the signal to it around 9pm, which left us nothing to do but go to bed. The creek that were in the pictures advertising the cabin had you thinking it was behind the cabin, but it was actually across the street and we couldn’t find access to it. We were not happy at all. We were on vacation, but for our family to not be able to reach us due to no Wi-Fi is ridiculous.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin has a bad odor. This was mentioned in other reviews. I should have listened. Owners obviously know there is a problem because there were stick air fresheners in every room. Walls and decorations were extremely dusty. Bathroom light fixture held 7 bulbs--there were 4 globe style bulbs, one "twisty" fluorescent bulb, & 2 slots were completely empty. Did that ruin my stay--no. However, if I am paying $700 for a three night stay, I expect the place to be clean and maintenanced. We planned to eat all meals out. Location is at least 15 minutes from food. Kitchen is not stocked well enough for cooking.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was advertised as handicap friendly. This was not true. Porch step was high, hall narrow, and bathroom very difficult to maneuver in a wheelchair. The telephone was at entrance to door and difficult to reach in wheelchair. The couch and chair were VERY uncomfortable. The satellite tv in the bedroom never worked. When I called the office, the person I spoke to to was not helpful. She told me " just fiddle around with it ". The outside garbage can was not secure. After being woken up from raccoons getting in the can, I had to pull it inside each night. I would not rent from this place again. We have stayed other places in that area that were much more enjoyable.

If you like sleeping on blocks this is your cabin!

We arrived super late. We rented for our honeymoon! Upon arriving it was a pleasant experience, other than no service and barely being able to access the entry code. Cute little cabin. Large spacious kitchen open floor living room! We were exhausted and went to lay down the bed was hard as blocks! We chalked it up to being tired and decided to wait to make a decision til morning! Woke up could barely move it was so hard and did not get any better! Went to brush our teeth and the water reaked of rotten eggs. Turned on the shower and thought it just needs to run for a minute.. 10 minutes later and the whole house smells of rotten eggs! Luckily we had bottled water and was able to brush our teeth with that! The tv wouldn’t work and when they finally came out to fix it it kept saying no signal. There is no wifi here so if you need anything you have to go down the mountain. Fast forward I contacted “aunt Bugs Cabins” several times and was told they would attempt to fix but couldn’t make any promises. The bed was just a sorry we can’t help that’s what the owner put it never offered to move us somewhere else or offer any accommodations. We left our stay early due to not being able to sleep without feeling like we had been in a fight! We slept on the couch a night or two and my husband is allergic to feather stuffing so that had his face swelled! It was unforgettable in a bad way! I cannot recommend this cabin! It would be so cute & quaint if not for horrible water a concrete bed!

Our Stay at river Sounds

Very nice Cabin. Good location. Very well decorated. There are a couple of improvements that could be made to the property. 1. The water smells terrible. I know it’s on a well but probably needs a carbon filter. 2. The mattress on the bed needs to be upgraded. It is very uncomfortable.
