Beautiful cabin with an awesome view!!! Very peaceful and relaxing and loved the wrap around porch to enjoy drinks while taking in the view. Plenty of space in the cabin to accommodate our family and the downstairs game room kept us all entertained! Also liked that the cabin was close to areas including Chimney Rock and Asheville for outtings. Also felt safe due to cabin being in a gated community.

This cabin had everything we needed and more!!! The kitchen had plenty, we did not miss anything. The big hit was the view and the game room. We took our grown children and their family to help celebrate our 43rd Wedding Anniversary. Our family really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty to keep you busy. We enjoyed being together and sharing this time together. Both of our children said that they would love to visit this cabin again very soon. The furniture and beds were so comfortable and we appreciate this. Plus it had all the finest furnishings. It was hard to leave such a Wonderful place. Thank you Matt and Katie for being an Amazing host and sharing your home with us!!!

This was the first time our family experienced our annual mountain vacation in NC and it was great. We look forward to returning next year, if not sooner. The cabin was great and clean and the view was beautiful. The cabin had many amenities that fit our family vacation lifestyle of RELAXATION.The Game room and Loft had games, and TVs to keep us occupied for hours. Outdoor activities did not suit us due to our health issues, so this cabin made staying inside a joy. The mountain view was outstanding and we enjoyed thanking God for the opportunity to see it every morning. The Hosts were amazing. They stayed in contact with us from booking until after we returned home. They answered any questions we had at any time. Please give the cabin "The Overlook" a visit. I am sure you will not be disappointed. Thanks Matt & Katie for sharing your beautiful home with us.

As at all VRBO's, the welcome letter states that this is a private home. If this were my log home, it would of had a lot of work accomplished before my guest arrived. The kitchen cabinets are in need of replacement, doors hanging down and wood very dried out. Hot water was warm at best. Screens for exterior entries were old and some torn. Exterior logs on the south and west sides need to be stained. Deck is in need of replacement and some of the cables for the railings are very loose and or disconnected. The interior logs need to be dusted and windows really need to be cleaned. The glass coffee table is nice, but I could see a small child getting hurt very easily on the corners of this table. It was a comfortable quiet cabin to stay in, but definitely needs some TLC.

Our cedar log cabin cabin home is nestled on 7.6 acres in a 100-acre gated community and is very secluded, tranquil, and relaxing with amazing year-round mountain views.

Our log cabin home features luxurious amenities throughout our spacious home; magnificent mountain views that are among the best in all of Western North Carolina; and access to amazing areas to explore, discover, and relax from Lake Lure to Chimney Rock to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Parkway to Asheville to the Biltmore Estate to so much more. We are also blessed with awesome motorcycle roads and hiking/biking trails in this part of the country.

You will love relaxing on our upper and lower decks and enjoying the spectacular mountain views and stars. And, you will also love our awesome game room and amazing theater room.

A Little Trivia: “Dirty Dancing” was filmed in Lake Lure! If you plan your visit in mid-September, you can take advantage of a Dirty Dancing highlight – the annual Dirty Dancing Festival in Lake Lure. Founded in 2010, a year after Patrick Swayze’s premature death and 23 years after the film debut, the Dirty Dancing Festival is a celebration of the inspiration, courage and love that Johnny and Baby instilled in legions of fans worldwide. Featuring live movie-inspired music and dancing, watermelon races, shag competitions, dance lessons, Kellerman’s Talent Show, a lakeside screening of the film and, of course, opportunities to attempt the famous lake lift, everyone comes to the Dirty Dancing Festival to “have the time of their life."

A Little More Trivia: Chimney Rock State Park is proud to have been one of the filming locations for the famous movie "Last of the Mohicans.” The iconic backdrop was shown in the last 20 minutes of the movie! The waterfall scene, the fight scene and bathing scene were all filmed at Chimney Rock State Park! Be sure to stop in at Chimney Rock State Park, where you can stand at the base of the famous Hickory Nut Falls, the waterfall in the movie!
