I grew up on Long Island Sound and spent summers on Fire Island and the Hamptons. To me, the Vineyard is even more special than those places. Development has been kept to a minimum and so there is not the sense of ostentatiousness that you might see elsewhere. While there are magnificent homes on the Vineyard, the objective is to be low key, rather than show off. Everywhere, you see people smiling....kids, young people, parents, seniors, all having a good time..walking, shopping, swimming, resting, biking. The place has a timeless quality of life one rarely sees in today's bustling resorts. Around each corner, there are meadows and fields, farms and forests, manicured and cottage gardens and beaches and vistas everywhere. As I say to all our visitors...'The Vineyard is not necessarily easy to get to, but once you are there, it's worth it.
