The house was great! Kids loved the toys and games. The fireplace was nice. There was plenty of space. Kitchen had everything we needed. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

Awesome location, beautiful house

The house was wonderful for our party of 5 - 2 couples + 1 adult kid. The kitchen is not huge, but we were easily able to cook breakfast and dinner every night. The property was well stocked with towels and additional bedding and it was absolutely the cleanest rental I've ever been in. The driveway up was in good condition, but it was steep in places. The result that comes with the drive is that once up the drive, you're staying in the middle of the trees on the mountain with no visible neighbors. Great house!

Beautiful Vacation Place

Great place. Beautiful. Easy to get to. Away from town. Clean. Comfortable. Family enjoyed our time together there. Hosts are super friendly. Free place to swim nearby. Dollar General within reasonable distant. Enough amenities for our stay which was greatly appreciated.

Cute, cozy, clean and convenient!

We loved our stay. Our group ranged from 7 to 70 years of age, and everyone thoroughly loved this home. There was plenty of room, the house was stocked with high-end amenities and the outdoor fire pit area was fantastic. If you are planning a rafting trip with NOC or other near by rafting companies, you won’t find another house this nice or this convenient. I highly recommend this property!

Such a nice house

To start, cleanest house I’ve stayed in to date. So nice and well appointed house for what we needed. Kids had their own space, so did we and all of us were upstairs (very nice to be with the kids upstairs in separate rooms) and my In-laws down stairs. All furniture and kitchen items newer and had all we needed. I don’t know if I can say enough nice things, the owners were great and available at all times via text. The only thing I think is worth mentioning was the driveway was a tiny bit intimidating, it’s a nice gravel road but windy. By the 2nd day though, it was no problem at all and to be honest it’s the smoky mountains so most of the roads are windy so you get used to it, we live in flatter land so we were not accustomed to it but adjusted quickly. Would absolutely stay here again!

Lovely stay

Just wonderful. The husband and wife owner met us when we arrived to welcome us and provide keys. They live on the property. Both are very nice. We didn’t see them for the rest of the stay, and their house is far enough away to provide plenty of privacy. In fact, the house felt wonderfully remote despite being so close to a major road. It is a new build, and obviously very well put together. Everything you will need in the kitchen including sharp knives (I find the knives in VRBO houses are often very dull). The bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean. There is a very nice fire pit. My kids say that the WiFi only provides 4 megabits per second, which I guess is less than we have back home. But it was plenty of megabits for me. We had an amazing time and would definitely return if we vacation in the area again.

Great location and a great place to stay

The host was amazing, very communicative and helpful. The location is as described, close to hiking, biking, fishing, and rafting. It's nestled in the woods with a steep and winding gravel driveway, a perfectly serene and tranquil place. I wouldn't want to navigate the driveway on a Harley, but most vehicles would have no problem. The kitchen and sleeping accommodations had all you could ask for. A gas grill. They even had a blender for my daily protein smoothy. There is a firepit, complete with chairs and wood. Plenty of room for all of us to stretch out, and come together for games or a movie. I loved my morning coffee in a rocker on the front porch looking at the squirrels and birds. The SmartTV was having challenges due to the internet service while we were there. A testament to how great Ray and Ann are, they bent over backwards to get it working, and ultimately the service provider fixed a bad line and it was back in business. There's so much to do in this area, and this home was a great launching point for our family!

This place was amazing, perfect location, clean, well stocked, very attentive owners.

We had a fabulous stay here. Within 1.5 hrs for day trips to Asheville, Gatlinburg, and Murphy. Easy drive to Bryson City, close to great hiking spots, but also pleasant enough to just chill and do some front porch sitting. Ann was very responsive to questions, check in and check out was easy. The house is clean, well stocked and beautifully decorated, we felt right at home. Driveway might be intimidating, but my minivan handled it with no problems ( I was worried by other reviews). We had Internet connection issues, but had good cell signal. We took time to relax read, and watched a DVD we had in the car. I totally recommend this place and would stay here again anytime.

Cute isolated place

If you like to be close to town but away from everything. This is the property for you. The owner meet you at the property to show you where everything is and answer any questions. I will recommend this to anyone who will be visiting the area.

We just loved this cabin and location was perfect for Spring Break vacation

The owners of this cabin make our experience extra special. The cabin was extremely clean, kitchen was fully equipped with daily needs, bedrooms extremely comfortable, bathrooms well supplied with linens and the washer and dryer was fantastic. The location was perfect and the Mountain View was beautiful and my grandson loved the fire pit for roasting marshmallows. We will be back for future vacations and highly recommend this cabin to family, friends and others looking for a great private mountain get away.

Beautiful and well appointed cabin

The cabin was beautiful, clean, and very well set up for family stays: great kitchen, laundry, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and just great facilities. The house is new and everything is in great condition.

Almond NC Vacation

As someone in a earlier post stated " the photos don't do it justice". This home looks like it's brand new. The dinner ware and pots and pans are better than my own. Ann and Ray met us when we arrived and are the nicest folks. They are the kind of neighbors you want to have.

Wonderful spot to stay near activities

My family and I spent our Fall break in Ray and Ann's cabin. They greeted us for check-in, gave us basic instructions for the house, and gave us suggestions for things to do in the area. They left their number with me should we have any issues or questions, making themselves readily available. The cabin was decorated so nicely for the fall, which was such a nice touch. The inside was very nice and very clean and the perfect amount of space for my family of five. The outdoor space had a lovely firepit, complete with firewood ready to go. My husband and kids enjoyed the long driveway for running around and riding bikes. The location was away from crowds but easy access to all of the activities in the area. I would highly recommend this cabin as a great spot to land for the family getaway in North Carolina.

Visiting for Tail of the Dragon

Everything about this house was perfect! We stayed here two nights. The bed was clean and so comfortable. It was so quiet and just relaxing. The house is tastefully decorated and the setting on the mountain was amazing. The clean up check list was not over bearing and very simple when it was time to leave. We definitely will be recommending this place to family and friends. Pictures of this place do not do it justice. We were about 45 minutes from the Tail of the dragon at Deals Gap.

Great stay!

Ray and Ann were great hosts! The house was exactly as described. We were very comfortable and felt that the location was fabulous. Very easy access to out planned Nantahala Outdoor Center excursion as well as downtown Bryson City. Just wish we'd had more time to spend in town and relax more at the house.

Great Week in the Mountains

Ray and Ann have a beautiful home in the mountains. The space was perfect for our family of six. It was close to fishing, hiking, tubing and other adventures in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Fontana Lake area. We loved the fire pit and front and back porches. The home was located in a more remote area than we expected, but it was an easy drive to gas, groceries and attractions. The steep, uphill gravel driveway is intimidating at first but is well maintained. We would definitely stay there again.

We have been married 41 years and have 3 adult children and 4 grandsons. We've been coming to this area since we married and honeymooned in the Smokies. Moving to the Smoky Mountains 6 years ago was a dream of ours and we always hated leaving when we'd travel. We enjoyed the mountains and activities so much that we finally made the move and have no regrets. We want others to enjoy their stay in the mountains as much as we always have.

Our three adult children and four grandsons all love visiting and exploring in the mountains. We do quite a bit of fishing and hiking with the boys, but they absolutely love tubing down Deep Creek. Whitewater rafting is one of our favorites and we recently went ziplining for the first time and will definitely do it again soon.

We built this vacation rental for others to discover nature, the mountains and just relax. We are located only 3 miles from Tsali for mountain biking, hiking and boating. Nantahala is only 3 miles for hiking, swimming, Whitewater rating, ziplining, kayaking, canoeing and The Rivers Edge restaurant.
Bryson City is a quick 10 miles for shopping, hiking, tubing, swimming and picnics at Deep Creek, and discovering three beautiful waterfalls. The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad offers different excursions during the year, but The Polar Express is a must with children. The Road to Nowhere is also in Bryson; great for hiking and horseback riding. Cherokee offers shopping, restaurants and Harrah's Casino, which is about 20 minutes up the road. There is a lot of history in Cherokee. Waynesville is a great city to visit with unique shops in the historic downtown district and also antiques. Waynesville is about a 40 mile ride. We want your stay to be enjoyable and will do all we can to accomplish a great visit.

We chose to build this vacation home on our property for others to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and serenity the mountains have to offer. You will never sleep better than in the mountains. Bonfires at night are a great way to enjoy each other's company, ghost stories and don't forget the s'mores. The home is secluded and you will feel like you're the only ones in the world while enjoying all the comforts of home.
