Our family of 6 (3 couples) had a great stay at the villa. The house was very nice and the views were beautiful. Our hosts were very helpful and responsive. They met us at the property upon arrival to show us the way around. The location was perfect. We were able to access the national park and several beautiful beaches with in a short drive.

DIANA & Partner made the incoming and outgoing process very simple. A couple of issues were quickly remedied. Kitchen well stocked, bedroom ac works well, pool enjoyed by kids daily. great views and location to east end and north shore. Would happily book again.

We had a wonderful time at “It’s About Time” villa. The view from all sides of the property is amazing. Jamie, the property manager, led us to the property and was available for any questions we had. The home was clean and well-stocked with kitchen utensils and appliances. We appreciated the basics that were provided such as paper towels, toilet paper, dish liquid and laundry detergent. A shed was stocked with beach gear, such as chairs and umbrella. The two rooms upstairs each have a private outdoor shower. The two rooms downstairs are accessed from an outdoor staircase, and have an indoor shower. The location is convenient to access nearby beautiful beaches, the closest of which were about 10 minutes away (Francis Bay and Maho), once you get used to the driving and twisty roads. We explored and snorkeled at beaches on the north shore as well as the eastern end, and dined at the restaurants in Coral Bay. We even saw a full moon over Coral Bay on the last night.

Pure bliss

After reading previous reviews we had very high expectations. It’s About Time surpassed our expectations. 1.location:very private with stunning views, ocean breeze 2.super easy access to Maho, Cinnamon, Francis bay beaches, fabulous snorkeling spots and hiking trails. Out of six beaches our favorite was Cinnamon Bay beach. From trails Ram Head trail. 3.spotless, beautiful and well equipped house (we were able to cook/ grill our catch from fishing trip). I loved the maps and books about St.John4.Thank you Diane and Jamie for easy and helpful communication. Herbal arrangement and papaya added royal touch.Staying at It’s About Time was truly blissful experience for my family.

Incredible views, house, and hosts

Diana and Michael's villa is even better than the pictures. The view is breathtaking - you are on a high ridge overlooking Coral Bay on one side (the main view from the house) and Maho Bay on the other (visible from some parts of the house and beautifully visible from some benches across the driveway). The location is very private and quiet, with no other houses or people in view. Both areas are within a 7-8 minute drive, and Coral Bay is a village with a few shopping markets and restaurants. The house itself is lovely and well-designed, especially for our needs - two families each in their own master bedroom with the teenage kids staying downstairs in their own space. The kitchen is well equipped; we had no trouble cooking most of our meals and a birthday cake. St John itself is incredible as a destination, with amazing snorkeling and some great hikes. (We especially recommend the Ram Head hiking trail; for some reason this doesn't get written up much, but in a week of hiking it was by far our favorite.)Diana and Michael were just incredible hosts - so kind and communicative and helpful! They had great local suggestions and came to our rescue multiple times - once with an air compressor for a tire with a slow leak, again shipping us a forgotten item and not even letting us pay. We've stayed in countless VRBOs and vacation rentals and they were my favorite hosts, period. We would absolutely recommend It's About Time, and hope to come back!

Relax and Enjoy

We were so happy with our stay at this great property in St John. It was clean, had a well equipped kitchen, basic toiletries, great WiFi, and was beautifully decorated. The setup was perfect for 2 families of 4 without feeling crowded. The hosts were wonderful, responsive, and close by and provided us with additional pool floats and activities based on our children’s ages (5-14). Moreover, the house is centrally located with all of the island’s beaches, restaurants, and attractions close by. Our longest car ride was less than 25 minutes, most were much closer. And as mentioned by everyone, the almost 360 water views from the house are just breathtaking!

Don't hesitate!

If you see all of the 5 star ratings & wonder if something fishy is going on - let me assure you that the reviews are true & spot on! The "It's About Time Villa" deserves 5 stars and I'd give the property managers, Mike & Diana even a few more if I could! The location, views and all of the accommodations at the villa are the best! Well equipped with all that you need and then some. Mike & Diana went over & beyond to answer questions and support our needs on our vacation! Super responsive and communication was easy & so very helpful. Absolutely the best place that I've stayed on the island! So don't hesitate, you won't regret it!

Views ... unbelievable views. And super well supplied house.

So everyone mentions the views... and rightfully so. Absolutely STUNNING views. You can see the run rise over Coral Bay right from the house, and you can see the sun set by walking to the sitting area on the other side of the property. It's unbelievable. The house itself was super clean and very well supplied, from kitchen utensils and tools to extra pillows and blankets. There is plenty of space. We had four adults and four children (ages 15 down to 6). Plenty of space for everyone. The location is perfect -- remote enough to feel really detached, yet close enough to the beaches and Coral Bay to make any commutes a breeze. There is a nice yard area that's really convenient for kids to play in, and backing vehicles up to the front door to load/unload makes things really easy. The owners were super responsive and proactively checked in with us during the stay. They really do care about the property and the experience of those staying there. When we come back to STJ this place will be on the top of our list to check for availability. Highly recommend!

Nice view

The house sits near a hilltop with beautiful view of the coral bay, fully stacked with supplies enough for a big group. The owner also carefully stack supplies in all the bathrooms including soap and toilet paper; kitchen has many extra supplies like dish soap and garbage bags. The two stories are set up in a way that two families can sleep totally separately without an inside stairs access; It’s perfect for us since the kids own the downstairs next to swimming pool. The living room has no AC but there is enough sea breeze to cool the room off with sliding doors open. We had some trouble locking the doors properly but since we are on vacation, we sort of used the chance to laugh at each other.‘a clumsiness. The host is very responsive to requests and questions. Coral bay is a really nice a quiet area to stay. The house feels like top of the heaven. Be sure to try The Windmill Bar. It’s a must see!

Wonderful Week at It's About Time

As others have said, the views from this villa are amazing. Not only can you watch the sunrise over Coral Bay in the morning, but this property also provides the bonus of being able to watch the sunset while gazing over the North Shore in the evening. The villa itself is just as described and had everything our group of 7 adults needed. To top it off, Diana and Mike were great hosts and were there to answer any questions we had.

Perfect spot!

I can't say enough good things about this house - terrific views, great layout, well-stocked kitchen, beautiful pool... the list goes on. We stayed here with our own family (two kids, 5 and 7) and my friend's family (also two kids, 2 and 4). The two floor layout worked perfectly for us. This was our second time to St. John and I was a little hesitant about staying 'so far' from Cruz Bay, but the location was excellent - it's literally 5 minutes to Maho/Francis beaches and the same distance to relatively well stocked grocery stores in Coral Bay. Cruz Bay is nice, but staying on this side of the island felt truly relaxing. Because the house is on the top of one of the larger hills on the island, it's always quite breezy, but the benefits are 1)very few bugs, and 2) more reasonable temperatures during the heat of the day. We'll be back!!

Everything was great. The house is spotless and beautiful and well-equipped. Amazing views from every window. Great location away from the chaos of Cruz bay but close enough to Coral bay for grabbing a quick bite. Owners are helpful and easy to communicate with.

Loved it!

Stayed here with a total of 8 adults (4 couples). The place was great, the location was awesome, and the views were spectacular! The owners were also the rental property managers and they showed they really care about the renters’ experience. Having a paved driveway made the hillside journey much easier than we’ve found with some other St. J villas. Parking 2 vehicles on a bumpy knoll wasn’t convenient but that’s nitpicking. We highly recommend!

A perfect week in St John :)

A perfect stay for groups looking for a casual stay with space to be together-- or apart! Everything we needed was there (or easily brought in by Island Baby) for cooking, for beaching, for lounging, for reading... and you can't beat the location-- so close to North Shore beaches as well as Coral Bay restaurants and beaches. We've stayed in Cruz Bay in the past and I really enjoyed this change of scenery. And or course.. THE VIEWS. The owner and the property managers were so helpful and lovely. We'll be back.

Don't know if I will every have a better view!

"IT'S ABOUT TIME" WAS ALL WE HOPED FOR AND MORE! Check in/out was piece of cake. Location location location. Views from all sides of the house are beyond description. Within minutes of the best beaches on the island. Plus who doesn't want donkeys in their front yard with a rainbow behind them when you wake up! Made memories with the family we will never forget. I do recommend a SUV since the driveway is very.steep.

I've never reviewed on VRBO, but this one deserves it

Over the years we've stayed at a dozen or more properties across St John and at a range of price points. This trip included my wife and I, son and his wife and their two daughters ages 5 & 9 and "It's About Time" was perfect. The great-room/kitchen area was perfect when everyone wanted to hang out together but also so easy to break off into smaller groups or find a quite place for a nap. Not to mention the pool, which was actually warm, which is not always the case down here. The location, on Ajax Peak, gives stunning views to the south of Coral Bay and to the north of Maho, Francis and beyond. The location is, in my opinion, about the best on the island, a short 10 minute (or less) drive to Francis, Maho, Coral Bay, Centerline gas station and groceries. Also, everything we wanted or needed was there in the house for us kitchen equipment, beach stuff, washer & dryer, etc.) Management was very responsive and easy. Too large for just my wife and me alone, but with kids and grandkids I'm not too sure where could be better. Would be great for several couples, too.

It's About a Lovely Time of Snorkeling

What a beautiful, well-located home near snorkeling and beaches! Mike and Diana were such wonderful hosts -- you won't be disappointed. Our four couples thoroughly enjoyed the home to the point where some members preferred to stay in the home rather than visit the island. We snorkeled Francis Bay, Trunk Bay, etc. and took a boat ride with Ryan Matthews' company On the Sea Charters. Great boat trip out of Cruz Bay with 4 snorkeling stops and lunch at the Lime Out. The Lime Inn experience on Saturday night was unbelievable! We hope to return to It's About Time in the future. Thank you so much!

Fantastic week in a property that surpassed our expectations

My family just spent a week at Dianne and Mike's property and loved every second of it. The home is really well equipped and extremely comfortable. We were able to cook at home, the kids watched DVDs from the extensive video library and we slept as well as we sleep in our own home. Dianne and Mike are incredible hosts - ensuring that we had everything we needed, and even sending us necessary information regarding USVI health protocols. They also had helpful advice on things to do around the island, and pointed us in the right direction for the best restaurant options. The home's location is really quite perfect. It is just minutes away from Maho beach or the Annaberg Sugar Plantation ruins. We loved the smoothie hut nearby, and the home's close proximity to hiking trails. The home itself is extremely clean and well-cared for. It is obvious that Dianne and Mike take a lot of pride in their home, and in providing a great experience for their guests. And you will never get sick of the views! We highly, highly recommend the rental!

Family vacation

A fantastic place to stay! From booking to check out Diana and Mike where very responsive to any questions. Check in was fantastic and easy. Sunrise from this property is 15 out of 10! Plenty of room for a family of 8! Would definitely stay here again!

Really wonderful!

I have so many good things to say about this villa, and the owners, Diane and Mike. My friends and I (a bunch of older women) have rented a number of other nice villas on St. John, but "It's About Time" is my new favorite! The kitchen is exceptionally well stocked with tools, pots and bans, baking dishes, a collections of spices, serving platters and storage containers. If you like to cook, this is the kitchen for you. There is a very large gas grill just outside the kitchen, which is very convenient. Although the house is high up on Ajax Peak, the driveway was not scarey (often the case in St John). It is only about 10 minutes down to Coral Bay. or 5 minutes the other direction to Maho Bay - a great location. The house is cool and breezy - we never needed the AC at all. The decor in the house is even better than itr looks on line - lots of very pretty touches. Best of all though is the amazing view of Coral Bay and the BVI. Sunrise is just stunning - well worth getting up for every day. I rate the views a 10 out of 10. I would rate the customer service provided by Mike and Diane a 15 out of 10! When small problems arose, they were extremely responsive - we could not have asked for more. I highly recommend this property!

Michael and Diana Damon are often asked what brought them to St. John. Well, It all started when they were bit by the "island bug"! No they are not talking about one of the insects that live on St. John. They are talking about the love and appreciation for St. John, its' beauty and the easy going way of life, and the extraordinary people who live and vacation there. It has been said by a very wise man, Roger Damon, "You know you been 'bit' if you have trouble leaving the island and are planning your next return on your way to the ferry and you have been 'bit bad' when you sell your 'Go Home Ticket' and stay"! Michael's first trip there was in 1979 when he traveled to visit and assist family members with building a home on Coral bay. It was very "hot and thirsty" work but that was ok, he had been bit. Its About Time Villa was created and constructed as a rental villa and as a place to bring family and friends together.
Diana's first visit was in 1995 with Michael and their 2 young children, Rileigh and Colby. It was another "Love at first Sight" for Diana and she was informed that she had been "Bit"! There are so many beautiful memories with family and friends over the years. The villa went up for sale in 2010. With sheer determination, affectionate bond, and financial commitment, Michael and Diana purchased the home from family members. Since then they have poured their heart and soul into updating and refurbishing the villa. They have personalized it with their touch and made it another home. St. John was hit very hard during hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017 and since Its About Time received mostly cosmetic damages, they opened their home and assisted neighbors in need. They now live on the island for most of the year and continue to carry on the family tradition of sharing the love and admiration of the island with as many people as they can. Page 1/2
