Wonderful communication during the stay. Location was perfect. Loved the place. Outside deck to sit on at the end of the night. Amazing view of the harbor.

Great location. Walking distance to dining, shops and activities. The unit was clean and as advertised. Communication was also great.

I stayed here last year and loved it so much that I planned my next trip to Boothbay based on when I could re-book it. The space is really cute and clean and is in an amazing location. Will come back again next year!One thing to note is that the door access code is deactivated as of checkout time. I tried to go back in to leave a tip for housekeeping but was locked out already.

Location is fantastic and you can walk to everything!! My dog loved hanging out in the deck. It was super clean and comfy. Highly recommend staying there. Communication was great right after booking, up to and during stay. Thank you! Can’t recommend enough !! Thanks!!

We arrived at the apartment 2 hours early and could not get in. I called VRBO 1st and they recommended contacting the owners. I did contact them and offered to pay for an early checkin. A few minutes later I received a call back stating they were releasing the lock and voila, we were in. We had everything we needed. The studio was much roomier than I anticipated. All the appliances were top notch. There is even a small dishwasher. The bed was comfy. We loved the unique use of copper pipes and the old fashioned push button light switches with copper plates. The unit was very dog friendly. There were dishes out for food and water, places to hang leashes. The deck was amazing, especially when the sun was out. Our pup loved sitting out there watching people and dogs walk by. You can easily walk anywhere around town for shopping or eating. There are so many restaurants close by. It was a wonderful experience.

Cozy studio with an excellent location. Furnishings were nice, shower was fantastic and the front deck overlooking the water and town was perfect.

This location was very convenient for tour boat trips, restaurants and shopping. There are high end appliances and lighting, and the interior is furnished in a rustic dog-themed way. There is a dedicated parking space, which was wonderful as available street parking was limited over the holiday weekend.

This is a well appointed apartment in the heart of Boothbay Harbor. I loved having the deck (even though it was December) because i could look out on the water and the Christmas lights after everyone else went home. This apartment is clean and well stocked with extra blankets and kitchen items. It is a small apt but it doesnt feel tight. The layout is good and the bed is very comfortable. You can easily walk to the water, shops and restaurants. 5 stars - highly recommend.

My wife and I really enjoy the Coal shack - although we wished the bed was bigger.Our dogs loved it since they can check out the neighborhood from the safety of the balcony and retreat into the shack when the sun is too much. The ac worked great this year which was important given the few humid days we had. The dogs liked the cool space also.The kitchen is great given the size constraints. We actually modeled our new kitchen based on some of the setups in the Coal Shack kitchen. However, we spent less time this year eating in. It is good to make some coffee and toast, then sit outside on the deck. The fridge was working great throughout our stay and given the great wine/cheese store across the street; a working fridge is a must.The quiet time from 10 pm to 8 am is nice. However, we must warn you on Wed or Thursday btwn 7:30 am an 9 am, landscaping takes place and for 30 mins sleeping is near impossible. Oddly, this only bothers the humans. Not too bad but noteworthy. The landscaping does pay off since the yards around the Coal Shack look great. We still slept in. Hopefully, somehow one can figure out how to get a bigger bed.We plan on returning to enjoy the Boothbay Harbor area and find new places to see and hang-out.

We enjoyed our stay at the Coal Shack immensely. Always appreciate our time in Boothbay. The time is always relaxing but tends to pass too quickly.

We had a great stay in June 2026. The place was clean and nicely decorated and had pretty much everything we needed. The host was easy to work with. The location is great. There is a lot of shopping and dining within walking distance. We loved sitting on the deck and looking out over the harbor.

Great location! Right in the heart of it all and beautiful views of the harbor from the balcony which our dogs loved for people watching.
