1 set of grandparents, 1 set of parents and their 4 boys. The 4 bedroom layout worked great.As others have said, the screened patio was a lifesaver. We had a very hot week (90) and the a/c was flawless.Enjoyed the nearby pool; access to Branson was pretty easyKitchen pretty well stockedOwner was wonderfully helpful with 2 minor problems; got the maintenance man out twice promptly to resolve them

Branson Trip

This house was perfect for our families with 4 adults and 6 kids. It was easy in and out to go do everything we needed and conveniently close to stores in West Branson. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time. Plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. The screened in porch was fantastic as we spent each morning and evening there visiting as a family. Highly recommend!

Family vacation

This is our 5th year staying here. We love the location. We love having the lake right outside our backdoor. We love sitting on the back porch and looking at the lake while the ceiling fan provides a nice constant breeze. Would be nice if parking was marked for each cabin. It's not the fault of the property owner, but when you have to pay for parking, it would be nice to be able to park in the parking spots and not on the road. This is the 1st year we've had this issue so hoping it won't be the norm. But as always, we enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back next year.

Nice but needs some TLC

I use VRBO a lot and travel a lot. I am always cautious about leaving a less than stellar review because I know this is someone’s business. Since I was a little torn on this one I decided to do a pros and cons list:Pros:Fantastic location, safe and securePlenty of spaceGreat screened in porchLarge jetted soaker tubsCute decorGood parkingConsDesperately needs new kitchen pots, pans, and dish towels.Carpet could use a good stream cleaning.Walls could use paint in several areas.Heat in the master was not great, living room was warm but master bedroom was freezing.We had trouble with the front door lock not locking.Tub drains didn’t do a great job of holding water.No real cabin instructions or discharge instructions.You have to pay 5.00 per day, per vehicle for a parking pass.If the homeowner put in a little money and TLC would have been a five star for me.

Disappointing Christmas trip

This was a Christmas getaway for our family- memories over presents this year. The home was to be decorated for Christmas it was said. There was an artificial tree up and decorated but the lights didn’t work and there were no other decorations out. We stayed the weekend before Christmas . Also when we arrived there was a soda bottle with tobacco spit on back porch as well as trash outside on front entry wall as you enter the house . The rooms and bathrooms were clean but the common area was subpar in the cleanliness department. Dust all around fireplace, coffee maker dirty. The TV in one of the bedrooms also didn’t work. Just disappointed in the amount of money we paid for a mediocre experience.

Great family retreat

Loved the location. We used the sand volleyball court. Boys fushed in back yard. Loved the screened in porch for game nights.

Great location near activities.

Great house! The screen porch was added fun space. Loved the community pool. Close to everything we needed and wanted to do. Only suggestion is perhaps an update on kitchen. Drawer fronts were loose and there was not a lot of glassware or dinnerware. Otherwise, it was perfect!!!

Vacation 2024

This is our 4th year staying at this location. The host is always very responsive and works with you. The place is clean and nicely furnished. There were updates to some of the furniture which was nice. Our favorite place as always is the back deck. You can sit outside with no bugs bothering because it's screened in. It also has an overhead fan which makes a nice breeze while you're looking at the lake. We look forward to going every year.

Girls Trip

This cabin was super cute, perfect for our group. Only fault was the TV in the living room we could never get connected to anything in order to use it. The fireplace was the same couldn’t find a way to turn it on. All the bath tubs didn’t plug or drain correctly either. Needs a let simple TLC but over all it’s a great cabin with super comfy beds and furniture.

Perfect for our Needs

Three adult couples needed bedrooms with baths. Perfect. Nice location with easy access to a pool and walking train and a fishing lake Close to Branson and Table Rock BE AWARE OF THE PARKING FEE 5.00 per day per car. We were unaware at booking. Comfortable home with some upgrades/updating needed. The AC worked great!!! And that was important due to the temps. The back porch was a great gathering place We were very pleased overall

Branson friend getaway

Black Bear lodge was very nice. Loved the screened in porch! Everyone had their own king bed which was great for our group of four couples. Very clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. Loved walking around the lake and seeing fish! A couple of the bed mattresses should probably be replaced soon. Bathrooms were adequately stocked with toilet paper and laundry soap was also provided for the washer. Was a great friends getaway week!

Perfect size

The lodge is great but needs some updating. Recliners don’t work, fireplace did not work, bath tub stoppers were broken. Beds could use new mattresses and box springs as they squeaked terribly.

Nick and Angela have been married 17 years and live in Canton, IL. They have two children. A fourteen year old daughter and a ten year old son. They own and operate a residential and commercial roofing company and Angela is a Registered Dental Hygienist. The Orwig family loves coming to Branson, MO and try to come as often as possible. Nick and his son enjoy the outdoors and love to fish and hunt as much as they can. So they look forward to Branson for the world-class fishing and turkey hunting. Angela and her daughter love dance and theater, so Branson is perfect for sharing time together and taking in all kinds of shows!

The Orwig's have vacationed in Branson, MO for many years as a family, and Angela vacationed here every year growing up with her parents. They love it because there are so many activities for people of any age. Silver Dollar City is on the Orwig's list of favorites and this lodge was a perfect choice because its location is so close to Silver Dollar City! They knew that Branson, MO and this lodge was the place they wanted to create their memories that will last forever!

We truly fell in love with this property! We had been looking for a vacation home in Branson for several years but when we found this property we knew this was the one. We love being around the lake and the convenience of the pool, basketball courts, and playgrounds so close to the lodge is fantastic! Our family really enjoys morning or evening walks around the lake together.
