It was close to everything but far enough away that it was quiet and peaceful. The layout with two bedrooms with queen beds and en suite bathrooms made it perfect for two couples.

Great unit in Truman Annex

The property was as described and noted in many of the reviews I read - Quiet, very clean, comfortable but a litte outdated. We enjoyed the convenience of the Southard pool. We were able to walk to Ft. Zachary Beach, Margaritaville, and some decent stores. We grilled burgers twice and the second time ran out of propane and had to finish in the microwave. The second tank was also empty. It would h,ave been nice to have some throws in the living room for the evenings. Appreciated the cleanliness of the place - that's always a plus for me,

The Orkin man let himself into our unit unannounced as we were showering on Wednesday. When calling the office, they said we should have received an email notification which we did not. Sago is located in Truman Annex, which is an excellent location to the action on Duval St. Neighbors are great, pool good, and decorated nicely for Christmas. The unit was clean and ready for us. Compass Reality was on top of the entire stay. The unit however is in desperate need of a make-over. I don't believe much has been changed since it was built. Examples: Microwave works great, however no turntable. This appliance is well over 30 years old. Kitchen cabinets should be replaced, as well as countertops. Both bathrooms while functional, are in need of an update. One of the faucets (original to the unit I'd bet) is very difficult to even turn on and off. Lighting in the bathrooms is poor. The 32" TV's are way too small, especially in the family room. The parking space is a plus. Patio and grill are nice as well. With a makeover this would make a good stay, a GREAT one.

Reviewer Comments: At first I thought the place had not been upgraded at all, but into my stay I decided maybe new owners, or owners who now were trying to improve the home. I noticed new utensils in the kitchen, new carpet upstairs, nice artwork (Audubon prints). The tv service in one BR needs to be upgraded, the TP needs to be upgraded, the kitchen and bath need to be update. All the above to be competitive with the other rental properties in which I have stayed. High marks for location and the pool.

Perfect Location

Covered parking, very rare in Key West. So much outdoor space! A large patio, front porch and 2 upstairs balconies. The unit was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. Each bedroom upstairs had it’s own bathroom and a half bath downstairs. The furniture was new and comfortable. We could easily walk to the farmer’s market, the Coast Guard Cutter, Mallory Square, Duval, Ft. Zachary Taylor park, the water front. I only drove the car once to buy groceries at the Navy Commissary. It was only a short walk to the Truman waterfront to watch the sunset. We throughly enjoyed this unit and the location.

Staff at Compass was great. If you rent a car, make sure it's a compact. The parking is tight!
