We're off the beaten tourist traffic flow, nearby restaurants, grocery store & outdoor tours and more when not swimming ,snorkeling,fishing,surfing,walking/jogging the beach right in front of your Apartment :).Area is family neighborhood, so You can enjoy walking anytime day/night, we're a very safe area!Rita & Sonny Beach Cabina #1-on 2ndfl balcony on far Left by stairs, are 3 Cabinas and 3 Ground Floor they sleep 2 Guest per Apt ,can rent more than 1 all have A/C,WiFi, kitchenette, restroom/shower, queen bed, rear/front screen doors/windows & balcony, refrigerator,4-burner gas stove & more very much all the comforts of home:).

A wonderful slice of pura vida!

Rita & Sonny have an amazing property. They are wonderful, attentive hosts, who have a lot of insight on how to enjoy your stay! There are many great food options around, and if you want to venture into Tamarindo it isn’t too far either. It was hard not to just sit on my balcony, and listen to the ocean in total bliss. I will be back!

Secluded paradise

Safe, quiet and beautiful beachfront with plenty of walking available. A peaceful area away from the busy city life. Sonny was very helpful and took us to the grocery store and around the area to familiarize us about the small town.

Beautiful location on the beach xxx

What a lovely last minute idea this was! We booked the day before as the rain was so bad inland. Rota and Sonny are Really lovely and could not be more friendly and helpful. The room was basic but perfect for what we want and the value. Kitchen really handy. And the location was just amazing ! Would definately recommend xxx

Enjoying the good life.

Staying at Rita and Sonny's resort was a rare pleasure. Not only are they gracious hosts but their accommodations are located on the beach less than 50 yards from the Pacific Ocean. The sound of the pounding surf put me to sleep each night and the porch afforded the guests ample time and space to become aquainted and enjoying socializing. All-in-all, a first class get away at an affordable price in paradise.

Amazing, private getaway

Sonny and Rita were absolutely incredible hosts. This place was tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the super touristy spots of Guanacaste but close enough to Tamarindo to get there quickly and shop and find some amazing food. The ocean view was breathtaking, mornings and evenings were super peaceful and pretty. Sonny and Rita were super attentive, there to help you with anything you need and available to guide you around the area. 10/10 would recommend and will be going back someday!

Perfection

Spacious & clean accommodations, great hosts, excellent transportation to and from airport, beautiful view, great common area on the beach. I don’t think I’ve ever had a more relaxing vacation, and I met some really wonderful people. I’d move in if I could and hope to return. Stop to get groceries on the way, bring water shoes and enjoy!

Perfect beachfront location for a relaxing stay!

My boyfriend and I stayed 3 nights with Sonny and Rita - what a great experience! The room was ideal size for the two of us. We could hear the ocean and see the beach from our bedroom! Sonny and Rita were gracious hosts and they made us feel completely at home. We enjoyed walks along the breach and checking out the local flare at the few little restaurants/chiringuetos around the property. Excellent place to stay! We were sad to leave so soon, but hopefully we'll be back someday.

It is true this is off the beaten track and very quiet except the dogs barking at 3am. Unfortunately when we arrived the bed was crawling with ants. there were 2 holes in the wall that the ants were crawling out of. The property manager's solution was to use a can of raid and duck tape the holes. We had booked for 5 nights but left after 1 night. We found much more comfortable accommodations in Tamarindo. The pictures on the website are not an accurate reflection of the current place. There are more trees, the ocean is barely visible from the balcony and you cannot see the building from the beach.

We did not want to leave!

My wife and I absolutely LOVED Sonny & Rita’s Cabinas. Our unit itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beach right in front was super nice and uncrowded. The hammocks and comfy chairs were easy to fall in to and hard to leave. The other guests we met were super friendly. Speaking of friendly, Sonny is a wonderful host who had some great suggestions which made our stay all the better. The cabinas are about 20km or so from Tamarindo which turned out to be a true blessing. Spend a day at Tamagringo if you like; it will make you appreciate the peacefulness all the more. There were several excellent restaurants just a few minutes away. The only problem we had with Sonny & Rita’s place was that we knew that no matter where we went next, it would be a letdown! 😎

The Real Costa Rica

If you want to enjoy the real Costa Rica, I highly recommend Rita & Sonny’s cabinas. First, they are amazing hosts, friendly, informative and just cool. This place is wonderful, laid back, not touristy at all. Beach in the front and jungle in the back, we saw birds, iguana, lemur, we bashed open coconuts and made pina coladas with the fresh milk. You can stroll the beach north with lots of sand or head south and explore the volcanic rock reefs. There is food across the road and 100 meters up the sand, or you can drive or get a ride to some great food less than two miles away. We shared evenings around the fire pit with other guests and made new friends. The sunsets are incredible. This is no resort, it is a comfortable, simple place with kitchen facilities where you can relax. Buy some groceries on the way in and enjoy the real pura vida life.

Warm, relaxing, welcoming, amazing, rejuvenating.

We were roaming the countryside looking for Paraiso (Waze) where we were warmly welcomed. The entire month passes to fast. We were included in so much, Sonny and Rita are very good hosts. They know so many people so we were welcomed by friends and neighbors. It is truly Costa Rican in amenities, but that’s what we came to Costa Rica for. I highly recommend it for anyone with a sense of curiosity. If you want all the amenities of home you’ll be disappointed. I you go I guarantee you will go away enriched emotionally, spiritually with a renewed sense of love and tolerance for different customs, lifestyles, and people. What are you waiting for?

Exactly what we wanted!

Staying at Rita and Sonny’s was exactly what we were looking for!! We loved our accommodations and the location. It was beautiful and quiet. We loved walking up and down the beach everyday. There was nice snorkeling right down the beach and beautiful birds and wildlife all around. We would totally stay there again and bring some friends next time!!

Simple Life At The Ocean

Once you leave Paraiso the roads are dirt. The route is not marked but Sonny's directions are excellent. Time your travel so that you arrive during daylight hours - we didn't, and found the experience anxiety-inducing. The property is exactly as depicted in the photos. Six units in a concrete structure, each supplied with the basics but little else. This is not a resort, more of a no-frills beachcomber existence. If this is what you're looking for, Sonny and Rita's is a great spot to enjoy. We stayed for two weeks and were quite content the entire time. There are two sodas (informal family operated restaurants} adjacent, and several more commercial establishments within a 10 minute drive. Also within 10 minutes are three small grocery stores for provisioning. The beach is rocky but beautiful. Relax and soak up the sun!

Best way to end my trip in Costa Rica!

Sonny and Rita are the kindest and most most welcoming hosts you could ask for. They went above and beyond to make me feel at home and included over the holidays. The cabina was immaculate and it was most appreciated that the fridge was stocked with water and cervaza after travelling all day. The other guests were friendly and engaging and Sonny recommended some excellent ways to spend my time and even got me in touch with someone to take me to the airport from here. I would love to come back one day!

Great vacation spot on the beach

The room, location, and owners were all great. The room was clean, good size, and had a nice breeze making it comfortable, even in the heat of the day. The building is new and sits on the sand in front of a beautiful beach. Sonny and Rita were gracious hosts and answers questions about the area and offered assistance with anything we asked about during our stay.

Beautiful Oasis
