This beautiful, well-equipped house was perfectly located for activities in the Hilo area. Just by looking at the map, it might not be obvious, but the home was situated for an easy ride to Volcanoes National Park, Akaka Falls, the wonderful Tropical Botanical Gardens, and just under ten minutes to downtown Hilo with its farmers' market and my favorite restaurant in town - Pineapples. The king-sized beds were very comfortable and there were many small amenities that showed that the owners really cared about how their guest would feel while staying in their home. I get to Hilo fairly often, and now I've found the place to stay for all my visits in the future.

We were in Hilo for two short nights to see and hike the volcanos. Rained the entire time, but we didn’t let that stop us. The house was perfect for our family. We truly just slept there, but it had everything needed to cook and relax. Good location. Approximately 45-50 minutes to the volcano and about 10-15 minutes to all shopping and dining in Hilo.

We stayed here with our family for an Easter weekend. It was the perfect place to stay for a weekend on Hilo! It's in a safe, quiet neighborhood that's centrally located if you're looking to enjoy any of the sites local to the east side of the island.We particularly enjoyed the gourmet kitchen, where we were able to grab fresh produce from the Hilo Farmers Market and whip up some great food with the kitchen supplies they had in the house. Felt like we were in our own kitchen.The hosts were very communicative and you could see the attention to detail they spent making their house the perfect place for families looking for a Hawaii retreat. I'm counting the days until I can book another stay!

Yonelle & Keone were excellent hosts for our family vacation to Hilo. The home was well stocked with all the essentials we needed & we were welcomed with a sweet gift bag of goodies. The home was pristine & located in a lovely neighborhood. I especially appreciated the quick responses to any questions I had during our stay.

The property was just OK. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO A/C! I’ve looked for homes in cooler areas and if they didn’t have AC, it was very clearly noted (for example homes in the mountains that likely don’t need AC) Other places have indicated a window AC unit in the bedrooms. This place had nothing and it was very hot and sticky in the home. The refrigerator wasn’t working but they had a repair man come and it worked decently enough until we left. Finally, the website boasted about the free range chickens and fresh eggs that were available but there was neither. My family was disappointed as we had been looking forward to that. It was the reason for our choice in this home. The stay was OK but we would’ve chosen another place had we known about no AC or chickens/eggs.

Hilo is a tropical town with tropical weather. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond to give our guests an excellent stay. The house does not have AC, AC is not listed in our description or shown in any of our detailed pictures. We do have inquiries about it before guests choose to book. The refrigerator repairman was sent, did checks, said it was fine. We also have had no complaints from other guests. We had him double-check again after this stay, just to be sure. As far as chickens and eggs, as explained, they were re-homed when the bird flu virus was a scare. Our website does not boast about free chickens/free eggs; our past guest reviews mention them. The pictures of plants and chickens are no longer on the website so no one will assume they are still there. The chickens and eggs were a nice bonus, but the safety of our guests is our main concern.

Fantastic home in a convenient location

We loved our stay - beautiful, newer home with all the amenities we needed. The location was super convenient to visit family in the area, and the hosts were fantastic (and very understanding when we forgot to leave the garage door opener - luckily we got it back). We hope to return on a future trip. Highly recommended.

Sooooo nice

We traveled with our adult kids so we really enjoyed the space to spread out. This home is very nice. The beds were comfortable and even though we didn’t cook, the kitchen was very well equipped. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Quiet Location

This was a great stay for my father and I on a trip to see the Volcanos and Mauna Kea. We were there for two nights and enjoyed the stay thoroughly. Very clean, very comfortable, very quiet place to stay. With the windows open, you could hear the birds which was nice when compared to a hotel. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a quiet and relaxing place to stay.

Great Home

Great house! Perfect size for our family of 5 adults. Very clean! Beautiful view of Mauna Kea. Excellent location for Volcanoes NP, waterfalls and adventures on the east side of the island. Would definitely stay here again

Great house that has all you need to have a comfortable stay that feels like home. Clean and new. Family friendly as well. Hosts obviously care about their house and being great hosts. Look forward to staying here again!
