NOT THE QUIET ANNIVERSARY GETAWAY WE BOOKEDThe cabin itself was clean, charming, and well maintained. Unfortunately, the experience was completely at odds with what we expected based on the listing and our communication with the owner.When booking, I shared that we were celebrating our anniversary and looking for a getaway. At no point was it disclosed that the property would be hosting high school prom events that evening. When we arrived, there were more than 100 people on the property for photos, a large group staying in a neighboring cabin, and we were then informed that two prom parties would be taking place later that night.We left within 15 minutes of arriving.We were also surprised to discover that the cabin’s primary view was of a large outbuilding, a feature not apparent in the listing photos. Had we known the property was part of a larger compound hosting major events and large groups during our stay, we would have booked elsewhere. Afterward, I requested a refund, and when that was declined, even a partial refund, but none was offered. VRBO ultimately provided partial compensation after attempting unsuccessfully to resolve the matter with the owner.If you are looking for a private, quiet retreat for a special occasion, I would strongly recommend asking detailed questions about the property’s layout and any events scheduled during your stay

The cabin was super neat and very clean. It’s well insulated. We didn’t even hear the storm. The host was quick to respond to messages and provide helpful information. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was huge! It was a perfect place for a getaway.
