This was the perfect ADK cabin, exactly as pictured. A lovely large firepit surrounded by natural rocks for seating felt amazing after the long drive. They are not kidding about 4WD even in the best conditions! He loved "testing" the truck's limits though and we made it up just fine (with 4WD). You feel embraced by nature from every aspect, from watching chipmunks and deer range through the yard, stargazing and morning coffee from the swing, to not being able to hear a single engine... talk about being unplugged from the world! There was good wifi signal if you do need to check emails or text home though. The bed was soooo much more comfortable than the standard you get at the campground cabins. Never ran out of hot water and room temperature was easy to control. Communication via text was easy for check in and the hostess met us in person upon arrival and was close by if we did need anything. We also appreciate respecting our privacy a great deal as this is a time to enjoy each others company and reenergize between hikes. Drive to ADK high peak parking was about 30 minutes. I loved my stay here!
