Escape to our peaceful riverside retreat on the Tygart River, where summer days are filled with outdoor adventure and evenings are made for relaxing under the stars. Enjoy air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout, fire up the grill on the spacious deck, gather around the firepit with the guitar, or challenge friends and family to cornhole, horseshoes, and bocce ball.

Perfect for family reunions, weekend getaways, remote work, sports fans, business travelers, and work crews, our home offers the ideal balance of comfort, convenience, and scenic beauty. Located just 2 minutes from downtown Grafton, 10 minutes from Tygart Lake State Park, and 20 minutes from Valley Falls State Park, you'll have easy access to boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking, golf, and some of West Virginia's most beautiful outdoor destinations.

Amazing host and extremely well stocked - kitchen had every appliance imaginable, and so many thoughtful touches throughout. Loved the binder full of local tourism knowledge and instruction manuals. Whoever cleans the house did a great job. However, the house was in pretty bad shape, literally. Not disrepair, but because it’s so old, everything is a bit jenky. All the floors are uneven with quite a few tripping hazards. You need to duck in several places. The neighborhood was probably safe, but a lot of homes have fallen into disrepair.

We enjoyed our time at this vrbo. They have clearly put in a lot of effort to make a dated home feel modern. We appreciated all of the plugs, remote ceiling fans, bedroom lighting, etc. the kitchen may have been one of the best stocked that we stayed at with every kitchen gadget from a countertop ice maker (very helpful!) to a waffle maker. The house is on the historic side, so some of the settling has made things uneven, including the stairs- so just be mindful of that. This property was halfway between two WV locations we needed to be, so it was ideal in that regard. The neighborhood itself was a little dicey. Outside of some street evangelizers, we didnt have any issues. The door keypad is very user friendly (some are tough to figure out) and the prop mgr was very responsive and helpful.

Katja who is nestled locally in the historic town of Grafton, West Virginia, & CJ and I calling the vibrant deserts of Arizona home. As a veteran-owned and operated team, we’re a trio shaped by our own journeys across the globe. We’ve poured our hearts and souls into creating a space where adventure meets comfort, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Nestled in the heart of North Central West Virginia, Grafton is the perfect base for exploring the region's natural beauty and small-town charm. Just minutes away, Tygart Lake State Park offers boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking, and scenic lake views, while Valley Falls State Park features stunning waterfalls and wooded trails. Venture out to nearby destinations including Morgantown, Fairmont, Clarksburg, Bridgeport, Philippi, Elkins, Parsons, and Aurora, with highlights such as Coopers Rock State Forest, the historic Philippi Covered Bridge, and Prickett's Fort State Park.

Maple Avenue is a quiet, welcoming street enjoyed by vacationers, families, professionals, and retirees alike. Just a short walk away, Maple Avenue Community Park offers picnic areas, grills, open green space, playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, and a fishing deck. Tygart Lake State Park and Valley Falls State Park are also just minutes away, providing easy access to boating, hiking, waterfalls, and some of West Virginia's most beautiful scenery.

Built in 1900, this vintage retreat wears its 126 year old history with pride and a few charming quirks. Expect original hardwood floors/stairs to be uneven in some spots and a low ceiling halfway up the stairs (signage has been added). This charming and timeless riverside home nestles along the Tygart Valley River, a lively hub of Grafton’s early 20th-century spirit. A town with deep historical roots tied to the Civil War, railroads, and early 20th-century development. Locals tell us that back then, Maple Avenue was THE place to be. It was a bustling haven for prominent families, railroad magnates, and parties filled with laughter and clinking glasses. Imagine the stories woven into these walls by those who once called this vintage retreat home.
