Cozy up by the fireplace and sip on your favorite hot beverage during Snow Angel Season @ Almost Heaven at the River! Enjoy snowy river views from spacious deck & private balcony. Perfect for romantic getaways, visiting family & friends, remote work and quiet escapes. Make lasting memories with home-made meals huddled around the dining table, fire-pit smores by the river, or game night with family & friends!

Our turn-of-the-20th-century 3BR/2BA "Almost Heaven At The River" is your Grafton WV haven. Tailored for families reuniting in nature, working crews near the FBI Center, Construction, Hospitals, Sport-goers collegiate sports (Mountaineers), or Golfers teeing off nearby. Whether you're here for business, leisure, or cherished time with loved ones, we're happy to welcome you to our cozy riverside retreat along the Tygart.

Please wash/clean used appliances, outdoor grill, and dishes; clean splatter from cooking/frying of surfaces prior to departure.
Kindly place used bedding & towels in laundry hampers. If time allows & motivation is plenty - feel free to start a load of towels using the one-push button 'towels'. Helping us keep cleaning fee low.
Bag & tie all trash prior to placing in the black bin w/lid at the front of the house. If staying Wed night, please place bin curbside for Thursday morning pick up. Thank you, Your grateful hosts!

Amazing host and extremely well stocked - kitchen had every appliance imaginable, and so many thoughtful touches throughout. Loved the binder full of local tourism knowledge and instruction manuals. Whoever cleans the house did a great job. However, the house was in pretty bad shape, literally. Not disrepair, but because it’s so old, everything is a bit jenky. All the floors are uneven with quite a few tripping hazards. You need to duck in several places. The neighborhood was probably safe, but a lot of homes have fallen into disrepair.

We enjoyed our time at this vrbo. They have clearly put in a lot of effort to make a dated home feel modern. We appreciated all of the plugs, remote ceiling fans, bedroom lighting, etc. the kitchen may have been one of the best stocked that we stayed at with every kitchen gadget from a countertop ice maker (very helpful!) to a waffle maker. The house is on the historic side, so some of the settling has made things uneven, including the stairs- so just be mindful of that. This property was halfway between two WV locations we needed to be, so it was ideal in that regard. The neighborhood itself was a little dicey. Outside of some street evangelizers, we didnt have any issues. The door keypad is very user friendly (some are tough to figure out) and the prop mgr was very responsive and helpful.

Katja who is nestled locally in the historic town of Grafton, West Virginia, & CJ and I calling the vibrant deserts of Arizona home. As a veteran-owned and operated team, we’re a trio shaped by our own journeys across the globe. We’ve poured our hearts and souls into creating a space where adventure meets comfort, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Nestled at the lively heart of West Virginia's hidden gems, Grafton serves as the perfect launchpad for the surrounding towns of Morgantown, Fairmont, Clarksburg, Bridgeport, Philippi, Elkins, Parsons, and Aurora—think of it as your spirited gateway to Appalachian adventure! Whether you embark on a breezy half-day jaunt or a full-day ramble, the winding drives alone are pure magic; pop into Coopers Rock State Forest near Morgantown for jaw-dropping overlooks, the historic Philippi Covered Bridge for a step back in time, or Prickett's Fort State Park in Fairmont for frontier tales that'll have you hooked.

Maple Avenue is a quiet, peaceful, and quaint street, home to a warm mix of vacationers, young families, working professionals, and retirees. A short walk (~0.5 miles south) brings you to the Maple Avenue Community Park where folks gather under pergolas, enjoy BBQ grills, open grass, benches, swings, basketball and tennis courts, and a deck perfect for fishing. It’s a charming spot that adds to the neighborhood’s welcoming vibe. The Tygart Lake State Park and Valley Falls State Park are super close to enjoy the stunning views and be close to nature.

When we discovered this enchanting, turn-of-the-century treasure, we were over the moon! Built in 1900, this vintage retreat wears its 125 year old history with pride and a few charming quirks. Expect original hardwood floors/stairs to be uneven in some spots and a low ceiling halfway up the stairs (signage has been added). This charming and timeless riverside home nestles along the Tygart Valley River, a lively hub of Grafton’s early 20th-century spirit. A town with deep historical roots tied to the Civil War, railroads, and early 20th-century development. Locals tell us that back then, Maple Avenue was THE place to be. It was a bustling haven for prominent families, railroad magnates, and parties filled with laughter and clinking glasses. Imagine the stories woven into these walls by those who once called this vintage retreat home.
