Perfect Getaway

We had a quick long weekend and this spot was perfect! Easy walk to the beach where we spent most of our time and short drive to some great restaurants!

With only a few minor inconveniences, we were able to get results immediately through maintenance and Brooks and Shorey. One unusual situation was the bedroom light coming on at various times night or day with no one having been near any switches. We were able to just switch them off so did not report it.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this condo. The parking is designated (for 1 car) but easily found parking for the 2nd car. The pool & hot tub was great & beach access was easy. We did have to walk around the corner to access the public handicap ramp, but it wasn't a bad walk. (We did not anticipate the need for wheelchair access when we booked 6 mo earlier). The rooms and bathrooms were great. The pullout bed was not comfortable to me (the teenage liked it), but they did replace the mattress while we were there (guess I’m getting too old for a pullout bed). We would definitely stay here again!

Needs a Facelift

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location is great. We love the Island Princess. This condo, however, needs some serious work. It REEKS of stale cigarette smoke, which we highlighted to the manager and were told it was "coming through the vents of other condos". Nonsense. The vents aren't all connected and no other condo we've been in has smelled like this. Good chance it's the original carpet or dust coated curtains that are holding the nasty smell.The upholstered furniture and mattresses also need to be replaced. The mattress dips heavily in the middle and is smashed on the sides, and the couches have no support. Unless you're in your early 20s, be prepared to wake up very sore.If they would fix these things, we'd stay again. But not a chance we would stay here again until these things are addressed.

We had several staying and everyone fit comfortable. The pool was cleaned every morning. There was plenty of chairs on the balcony for everyone to use. I will say there was some kind of electrical issue. The master bedroom light would come on randomly. One night it did it during the middle of the 3 times so we end up taking the bulbs out so we could sleep. I reported this at check out. The beach chairs & umbrella was set up every morning, no issues getting one. The sliding to the balcony was very hard to open and shut. One side was so hard we just didn't use it. I reported this at check out too. If you plan to do a big meal, bring pans. There is only 2 frying pans that are medium size. We would stay here again. The location was great and close to everything. Heads up to anyone traveling in without a car, it cost us $60 to get ride from the airport to the condo.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Refrigerator ran warm every day with a high temperature alarm sounding every evening. The door was rarely opened in the afternoon. We called our first evening and we were told that it was because we had placed warm drinks inside the refrigerator and because we were in Florida it would take some time to cool back down. The high temperature alarm cleared about 02:00am and the temperature went back down to 38 degrees. The same thing happened the next afternoon and we called again. The temperature showed as 48 degrees on the refrigerator. Maintenance came and advised us that he didn’t see anything wrong with the cooling but would send a technician out to check it. We never heard from them again even though we stayed until the following Saturday. Still had high temperature alarms each day. The alarm sounded when the temperature reached the high fifties.

Thank you for your feedback. We do ask for up to 48 hours to allow the refrigerator to properly cool all items in the newly stocked frig, in addition to asking that the temperature settings not be adjusted by the guests in the meantime. The freezer had been turned down too far and wasn't allowing the cool air to flow to the frig side. Our maintenance was able to adjust the settings back to normal and measure that the air blowing into the frig was the correct temp at that far no other concerns have been brought to our attention with this appliance but we'll keep an ear out. We wish this did not have such a negative impact on your stay and we hope you plan to travel back to Okaloosa Island in the near future!

Bad Experience with Toilet Issues

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Plumbing is apparently outdated. 2 of the bathrooms would not flush. When one toilet was flushed, the bathroom and bedroom was flooded with feces, not ours!! Management took great care getting the problem taken care of, but we could no longer use that guest room, it stuck terribly. My son and daughter in law slept on the pull out couch. Rental is in a great location, right on the beach. I wasn’t impressed with kids banging on the door and ringing the bell.

Beach get a way

Only problem was literally 558 pm before we were given code to unit. We have never had that problem with other companies. Beautiful unit though.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Island Princess is a nice condominium. Grounds and pool are well maintained and beautiful. We stayed in condo 409. It’s a very nice condo. Only criticism is the two guest room showers drained very slow. I would also suggest on upgrading of the mattresses. But all in all a great and comfortable condo.

My stay at the Island Princess for my daughter's wedding

Condo number 409 was absolutely amazing. The decorations were beautiful and Tastefully done. Absolutely love the view and there was plenty to do in the area. There are other guests in other condos here for the wedding and the coordination of the chairs on the beach in a group for all of us was very thoughtful. We had a great time and definitely would consider coming back. Thank you so much for all you did to make our stay beautiful and memorable.

Dirty, dirty, dirty

The location of this property was probably one of the only positive aspects of this rental. We had a 10 month old baby with us, and the first day, his feet were black after crawling on the floor. We re-cleaned the floors after check in, and they were awful. We also had issues with bugs being inside the until. We saw small cockroaches and other bugs that lead to us not being able to keep any food on the counters. The pantry door completely fell off at one point, and the tv in the living room did not work. The beds were awful. The first night we put our baby in the bathtub, we cleaned it first, and again wiped up dirt and grime. The shared things (pool, pool deck, walk over, and beach chairs) were all nice amenities. I’d suggest finding another space though.
