We recently stayed at this property and unfortunately our experience was mixed. The check in process was difficult because the cleaning crew was still working at the scheduled 4 PM check in. We had to leave and come back an hour later to allow them to finish cleaning the bottom floor. As a result, it was clear that the cleaning was rushed, and several areas were missed.The main living space is cute and cozy, with a large wood burning fireplace, and the back patio is spacious with a nice view of the mountain. However, the rest of the home felt very outdated and in need of repairs. In our opinion, if a home is being rented as a vacation property, it should be properly maintained and updated to provide a comfortable stay.On a positive note, the owner was very responsive and refunded the cleaning fee, which we appreciated. Overall, though, the property did not meet our expectations.

Great stay for our family at the cabin. Place was super clean and had everything we needed. Nice and close to Cashiers and Highlands for some civilization if needed, and awesome waterfalls and outdoor areas.

Great view! Hosts were so quick to respond to any questions I had too. Great indoor fireplace, little outdoor fire pit too. Quick drive into Cashiers as well.

Pictures NOT accurate

The location was beautiful, but property is not maintained. It’s old, tired and dirty. Smelled musty. Practically falling down. There was food debris on counter chairs, dining chairs and cabinets. We were asked to take our garbage with us. We did not. Asked to start the laundry and there was no detergent. When we got there the “owner’s manual “ had paper taped to the TV section telling you no direct tv, use your own phone for a hot spot and stream your own subscriptions. Baseboard heaters were literally falling apart. Grill was too dirty and greasy to use. And parking was really difficult. I hate to trash a home, this was truly poorly maintained.

Poor condition

Overall this property was in poor condition and not clean. Many things are broken and have been for a long time such as grill, ice maker, laundary door, linoleum, heaters, knives, cieling fans, fire place flue, vacuum cleaner. There are no cleaning supplies and on and on and on. There is no trash pick up and no place to store it so frequent trips to the recycling center, 24 miles round trip. No fire wood either. Owners did try to make amends but we rented for a month and left 5 days early.

Great view from the deck.Good amenities at Sapphire center about 12 minutes away.Cabin is old and in need of updating.Lack of trash pick up service is a problem since leaving trash outside will attract bears.

Beautiful Views

We had an amazing anniversary trip here. We brought our dog along, which made the gated porch a really nice feature for us. The location is great, as well, near a lot of different hikes. The views were beautiful and we were able to grill and drink our morning coffee out on the porch. We were also able to use the fireplace in the evenings, which was made for a lovely ambience. We would definitely come back again!

Thanksgiving Getaway!

This cabin was the perfect getaway for our Thanksgiving trip! The house is comfortable and with a roaring fire in the stone fireplace, it was the coziest place ever! It's convenient to anything you need (even a Starbucks!) and plenty of nature literally right outside your door! The location is close to hundreds of hiking trails, mountain biking and road cycling. The town of Cashiers is loaded with cute shops and restaurants and a great grocery store. We loved our stay and look forward to going back in the future!

Great Property

Very nice and clean property with great views! Had no issues during our trip and we were well informed of local eats and amenities. Lots of hiking and waterfalls nearby. Would definitely recommend.

Disappointed

The outside view and area was beautiful but the house/cabin was not. It seemed very neglected. Missing remotes, clocks with dead batteries, old musty smell, no full length mirror, dryer doesn’t work well. Main bathroom was gross. Beds were comfortable though, but would not stay there again or recommend it.

Perfect Lazy Weekend

Great spot to just relax, build a fire, lay on the sofas, and look out at the great mountain view. Even in off season it was a great distance view of the mountains. Grill was great for grilling steaks. The bed was very comfortable. Ready to come back and be lazy again.

Perfect & Cozy

Property was super clean and prepared for us to come in cold weather. The main living area is cozy and perfect size. We didn’t use the upstairs as it was just two of us. Good location, 15 minutes to Cashiers and 30 minutes to Highlands. We also went to Asheville and it was about 1 1/2 hrs. Lisa is very communicative and easy to work with. We had a great stay.

Retreat

Location was idyllic. Upstairs loft with 2 twins was comfortable but not separated by a door from living room. Upstairs shower crampaed but downstairs shower fine. View is breathtaking from porch. Thank you.

Great cabin

This Cabin was everything and so was this area. The cabin is in a perfect location central to the waterfalls and hiking trails in the area. The cabin is spotless clean and has everything you need. I have been exploring the wnc area for 20 years and this is the best cabin I have stayed in. Lisa is very easy to work with. Will visit again soon thanks Lisa

Beautiful Mountain View

Beautiful property, conveniently located. Great communication with the owner. The deck and the view are the best part. Some additional lounge seating on the deck would be great. Inside and outside are in need of maintenance. Overall, we had a lovely stay.

Fabulous view

The house has a fabulous view from both inside and the large deck. The location is great too. Easy to get to, and eligible for all the wonderful amenities of Sapphire Valley Community Association.

We want to spend more time in the mountains and our dear friends live 1/2 mile from this location. We also have other friends in nearby Cashiers and Highlands. We loved this area because of the endless amounts of hikes and waterfalls and the many fabulous restaurants and shopping in this area.
