Communication was delayed at the beginning, with no contact during the week prior to the event. The host also did not inform me about road construction directly in front of the house, which made it confusing for guests to find the place and difficult to park. That said, the house itself was very cute. Events are welcomed but higher in price so I advise reaching out for estimates before booking.

Amazing rental. Great house layout, our kids and grandkids had a wonderful time. The Christmas decorations were excellent. Everything was clean, so well appointed all around. Great VRBO experience!!

Small Wedding

The Olde House was a great place to have our small intimate wedding. And had enough indoor space for people to move around and the backyard and garage area for entertaining was super nice. The only thing that I would have to say was in June, it’s awfully warm and we did notice the house had a hard time staying cool toward the afternoon and evening. We did bring in some fans and it made the situation much better. I would definitely recommend this place for an event. I think it would be a great place to have something either in the spring or fall when the weather is more desirable.

Wonderful!

We had an amazing time at this place! There were lots of dishes and seating for our group. We had a wide range of ages for my mom's 80th birthday weekend. Many from our group commented about how nice the property was. The large backyard was a hit. The event space was nice. First night we had the doors open. 2nd evening we closed it up and used the air conditioners. Tad smaller than I was expecting but it was still wonderful! The house had lots of seating for people to chit chat with each other. It was also close to lots of shopping and food places.

Lovely time at the Olde House

We had a lovely time at the Olde House. We rented the event space to hold my wife's 50th birthday party. Everything felt mostly in order and ready for us. It would have been nice to have had better pictures of the event space. Clearer instructions on how to unlock everything, and how to use the heaters in the event space would have made everything a little more enjoyable. Overall, it was a great time.

Perf Wedding Day!

Property was beautiful and was exactly what I wanted for my wedding. The pictures do not do the venue justice, every room has gorgeous rich history in it, with unique decorations and nicknacks all over. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything one could ever need to cook, and was very well organized and BEAUTIFUL.

Wonderful property

This was a really a nice place for our family to meet and celebrate my wife's birthday. My wife and her sisters really loved this antique home and it had the perfect dining table and kitchen for our group of 7 (adult siblings and spouses). My wife was excited because this home reminded us of a time when we lived in a smaller early 1900's craftsman home. The kitchen is really amazing. The only drawback of this stay was that I arrived after dark and finding the lockbox was a bit rough. Colton said where it was but I wasn't looking below knee level on the backside of the porch railing. But with that said, I think this is a wonderful home for those who enjoy and appreciate antique period architecture and Colton responded promptly to my questions. As a suggestion for any future remodels it might be nice to make the downstairs bedroom bathroom entrance and space handicap accessible. Retro fitting old homes is tough but this would really help your guests with limited mobility. Thank you for opening up your amazing home. We would definitely recommend it to others.

Waltz into the roaring '20s as you pass through the foyer's sliding doors into any room your heart desires. Enjoy food and conversation and play a little jazz in our large piano/dining room on one side, or get comfortable near the quaint gas fireplace in our cozy, private library / TV lounge. The downstairs master suite boasts a king bed with beautiful antique seating and dressers. Bathe in the restored antique clawfoot tub or glass and tile shower. Bring your whole wardrobe for the dream walk-in closet. Upstairs, pick your quarters from 4 private bedrooms, all connected to a communal lounge with conversational seating, a coffee & tea bar and 1.5 bathrooms. Make breakfast, lunch, dinner or a midnight snack in the beautiful brick and soapstone kitchen with an eat-in bar, breakfast table, excess storage and most wonderfully, a 48" dual fuel, 6-burner stainless professional range/oven. Or, hop outside and walk to the olde city park or downtown strip for coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, wine, boutique gym, shopping, yogurt or Wylie Opry.

Sleeps 13 in beds. For additional guests, 3 air mattresses and pumps available in the upstairs hall closet.

This home sits at the corner of Downtown Wylie, the original hub of the city built in the 1870s. Now, the olde downtown is a quaint strip, still featuring original 100 yr old buildings where you can spend the day jumping from coffee to lunch to antiquing to furniture shopping to the gym to yogurt, then dinner. Wylie was rated #1 city in the nation for families by Forbes magazine in 2016! Also, a top 20 city rated in Money magazine. True quaint, country atmosphere with lots to offer our visitors! Lot's of fast food and restaurants off the nearby highway as well.

Our reception building, paved walkway, gazebo and chair/table package makes the Olde House one of the most unique offerings for a small, boutique wedding in a historic setting. It comes equipment with air-conditioning / heating, 4 bay doors and tables, chairs, coolers and event equipment.
