With its unique combination of native timber, grasslands, and soil makeup, the property is a "sweet spot" for habitat improvement. We have actively managed the property since 2010. By partnering with the Missouri Department of Conservation(MDC) and the Department of Natural Resources (NRCS), we have developed trails, improved wildlife habitat, performed timber stand improvements, and, in 2017, restored wetland habitat.
In 2015, we became the first Missouri landowner to participate in the Missouri Recreational Access Program (MRAP). This program opened up private property for public recreational activities. Wildlife viewing and hiking are available at the cabin site.
