Magnifique séjour

C'est maintenant la deuxième fois que nous venons dans ce studio avec vue sur le port. L'accueil est parfait, l'endroit confortable et la vue magnifique.

Unvergessliche Tage

Die Lage direkt am Hafen und inmitten von Restaurants ist sicherlich einmalig. Generell war alles in Ordnung, aber da der Besitzer nicht vor Ort ist, hat er natürlich auch wenig Einfluß auf die Lage vor Ort. Auch beziehen sich die Beschreibungen des Appartements immer noch auf den Stand vor über 10 Jahren. Natürlich sind bestimmte damals renovierte Räumlichkeiten nicht mehr neuwertig. Wir hatten dennoch eine wunderschöne Zeit und kommen gerne wieder.

What a view!

"Small but perfectly formed" is a bit of a cliché but sums up this little apartment very well. All you need is there with loads of hot water whenever you want it, however the crowning glory is the view of the harbour from the little balcony. For once the photo on the advert is not hyped and in fact does not do full justice to the view. If you are lucky with the weather you can have a sunny breakfast outside every day and when it's hot, you'll have shade later in the day. You can spend many a happy hour just people (or boat) watching and all the local facilities are in easy reach without the need to climb any hills. There is also a lot of good walking in the neighbourhood if that's what you like.

Nette kleine Wohnung für zwei. Die Aussicht vom Balkon schlägt jedes Kino um Längen. Fisch direkt vom Boot vor der Haustür. Phantastische Landschaft. Abwicklung unkompliziert.

I live in Groby, Leicestershire, in the UK. I met Sue, from Derby, in 2010 and we got married in 2012.

It was 2008 when, by chance, I found Port-Vendres on Google and decided to have my summer holiday there. I loved the place and surrounding area so much, that 3 months later, I was back to sign the contract on a new two bedroom apartment.

With Sue and I getting married in 2012, we were then able and lucky enough to purchase this studio apartment along the harbour side in the same year.

The port and surrounding area ticked so many of my boxes that I knew I would struggle to find anywhere better to invest some capital that had come my way. Airports, rail connections and roads make for a choice of ways to get there. Soon, Barcelona will be within easy reach for the day when the fast TGV train connection is finally complete with that of the town of Perpignan. In winter, the ski slopes are within striking distance too.

Port-Vendres is on the Mediterranean Sea and close to the border of Spain and the small town is an essential stop on any tour of the Roussillon. Here sea and mountains meet providing sumptuous natural surroundings, perfect for swimming, diving, walking, discovering or just chilling-out! Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the renowned Scottish artist, designer and architect spent the last four years of his life here, but if you want bigger names, then a short walk away is the beautiful Collioure, where Picasso, Matisse and Derain have all left their mark!

There is no better way to enjoy Port-Vendres than just walking around the harbour to take in the sights and colours. Whether it be fishing boats, pleasure boats or just watching a large cargo boat being tugged into position, there is always something going on in this small town. Within a 30 minute walk you could find yourself in the beautiful resort of Collioure. Within this small town you’ll find beaches, many historic buildings and art galleries galore! If you’ve not been to this part of France, then you’ll be surprised at how nice and unspoilt this area is!
