At first glance, the place was lovely. The kitchen was beautiful and couldn’t wait to do some holiday cooking in it. We got my mother-in-law set up in one of the rooms. And then my partner and I slept in the back hallway room grabbed the extra blanket that was in the closet and fell asleep cause we got in late. We woke up covered and bug bites. My partner got probably 30 to 40 just on his head, it was very violating and very disgusting. When we looked for the source, we found that property was not cleaned well. We even considered just moving to a different room, but when we went there, the bedding wasn’t changed. It was really disgusting. The worst part I think was the fact that the host did not respond. This was supposed to be a special trip for my family and I and instead on Christmas Day, we had to move out of the property and find another property to stay in. The whole rest of the time considering ending our trip because of how uncomfortable the bug bites were. It was really horrible, and really awful, and very violating. The fact that I still haven’t gotten a refund or response or an adequate reaction, is just adding insult to injury. I sent multiple messages, indicating the issue, offering ways to mitigate, pictures of everything and still no response. It wasn’t until the day we were supposed to check out that we finally got a response and it was literally the checkout request and a statement indicating they hoped we enjoyed our stay! This was horrible.
