Property wasn't dirty per se, but it was clear it hadn't been lived in or used for some time. There were dead flies behind the sink and intermittently throughout. The location is decent, but the townhouse clearly hadn't been updated in many years. The heat also didn't work for a couple days of the stay and when it became obvious that I wasn't just losing my mind (the weather got really cold) I contacted the owner who sent someone to fix it. The response was good, but the lack of heat in the first instance was not.

I will never book with this host again. The key codes from the host didn't work when we arrived to the property and the phone number listed just went straight to voicemail. The host didn't get back to us until the next afternoon, when we'd already had to book a last minute hotel somewhere else, saying they didn't answer the phone because they were out of town. The host said we would get a refund, but stopped responding after that. After multiple failed attempts to contact them again over the next week, I had to call VRBO directly and talk to two different people to get the refund. Not cool.
