Beautiful location and quaint, charming property. Very close to HITS Horse Show Park. The property was clean and the property’s landscaping was lovely. Great place to stay and we will be back.

Loved our short stay here. Relaxing little nook minutes from downtown Saugerties. The host Maureen was great and easy to communicate with. Great decor and vibe. We had a little fire outside and enjoyed dark, quiet nights.

This was our second visit to the Artist's Retreat in Saugerties and we will return in the future! The first was for my mom's 88th birthday and this year for her 91st. Beautiful location. Maureen makes the whole process relaxing and restorative. Fresh flowers in every room, fires laid in the inside and outside fireplaces, fresh milk and eggs in the frig. The views of Outlook Mountain from the dining room window and from the back bench in the morning are stunning. We discovered great kayaking nearby at Saugerties beach. Already booked for next year!

This artist’s retreat was the perfect place for a relaxing vacation in the Hudson valley. Beautiful setting, comfortable home, everything you need to settle in. Maureen was very responsive to any questions. The house is located in a very quiet area which made for a very relaxing time with family. It is very homey and cozy. We especially enjoyed the reading nook/ dining area for gathering for games and diving into our summer reads and for beautiful views for sunsets. Thank you for a wonderful time!

This place was the perfect place for us to stay as we explored the Hudson Valley. Just absolutely ideal. Cozy, warm, perfectly appointed. We love Maureen! Beautiful cut flowers left for us in every room.

Cozy & comfortable! Charming cottage, lovely grounds. "Away from it all," yet, convenient to hiking areas, waterfalls, the Hudson River, and good restaurants. Maureen, the host, was lovely.

A wonderful stay

This is a great spot to totally relax. This really comfortable cottage in the woods is quiet and well-appointed…and, Maureen is a perfect host. Highly recommend!

Worth returning to!

This place is absolutely gorgeous, and the perfect place to unwind while surrounded by nature. We've gone three times now and will probably be back again!

Loved this rental, private yet close to all. Red onion was the best dinner we had up there, you must

Dog friendly ( lots of deer so if your dog likes to chase them be careful) house was very comfortable and adorable!

I am an Interior Designer, originally from the Midwest and Upstate New York. My husband, Ross, grew up in the cottage, he is now a fine artist and painting professor.

This property is my husband's childhood home. His parents rented, then purchased the cottage from a local landowner in the mushroom business. The house is filled with warm memories as well as examples of Ross's early paintings. He was and is strongly influenced by the beaurtiful Hudson Valley light!

The quiet setting is truly magical. I will never forget the first time I drove up the hill and saw the house and stone chimney surrounded by cedar trees. It is a special place!!
