CASA ALBERDA is situated in the middle of the hilly landscape in Catalonia - A marvellous Catalan farmhouse of unusually high standard. It is perfect for several families as there is room for 15 people - spread over 7 spacious and beautiful bedrooms, all with en suite bathroom with hydro-massage cabins. Furthermore, CASA ALBERDA posseses a swimming pool with spa, tennis court and many other attractive features.
From nearly anywhere on the site, you can enjoy the beautiful view over the wooded hills. There are only few houses to see, which means that the area is very peaceful and natural. It is one of the big pluses: You get away from the daily busy life and live in completely relaxed surroundings.
CASA ALBERDAS big plus is its indoor qualities. There are 7 bedrooms spread over one single room, four double rooms and two triple rooms. All bedrooms have their own en suite bathroom, all with hydro-massage cabins. The bathrooms are like the bedrooms spacious and stylishly decorated with a twist of Catalan country style. Furthermore, all the sinks in the house made by hand. The house has a total of three very cozy sitting areas. One of them is the lounge, and with leather sofas, floor lighting and fireplace, it is both modern and classic decorated. There is also one on the first floor with TV and DVD, which is ideal for children. Many of the original features such as doors and the protective saint in the living room are preserved and give an authentic feel. The kitchen is very modern and beautifully decorated. It has among others a microwave, a dishwasher and a washing machine. It is an extension of the dining area, where there is a nice long table made of wood.
The large and very well-kept garden of CASA ALBERDA has many different activities. Something that is sure to be a big hit among the kids is the 48 m2 large swimming pool. Instead of the usual rectangular shape, the edges are corrugated. The unique thing here is the stone which the pool is built on: Here in the center there is a small spa area. Next to this unique pool there are sun beds from which the Catalan heat can be enjoyed at full blast. And when it gets too hot, it only takes a few seconds to jump into the cooling water. The pool area is fenced.
In the garden you can also find the large covered terrace with dining table, BBQ and a huge gas-powered paella pan, so you can cook the traditional dish.
There is also a playground with swings and a slide for young children.
In addition, the house has a volley net, a table tennis, a table football, and there has been recently built a tennis / football field with artificial turf.
Wi-Fi is available in the home.

Lisbeth and I (Bertel) are the owners of the company SYDENS FERIEHUSE. For the last 14 years we have engaged in letting out fantastic Catalan holiday homes, all of which live up to our criterias: they are authentic, charming homes and are all of a very high standard. We help Conxita & Antoni let out CAN PUIGNOLL.
We consider the perfect holiday to consist of two parts - a nice holiday home and some great excursions and activities. Review from other guests: The stay in Catalunya was great. Just note that there was no golf closeby (as was stated). A good idea might be to have a info-book with interesting sites/cities, restaurants, bakery, grocery etc etc .
We fully enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to everybody!!

Unfortunally we are back from spain and working already.
We really would like to thank you for the great holiday we all had. No complaints what so ever. It was really great to visit the casa alberda.
Also thanks for the arrangement of Xevi and Maria. It was very good and well prepared. Our children had never eaten that much before.
I would really like to keep in touch with your agency because the service was outstanding and the communication very proffesional.

Update October 2010: We have just re-visited the house. It ensured us that this is a highly recommendable and fantastic house. The owners have optimized every detail. Furthermore, they have, since last visited, added WIFI-Internet.
We also saw the setup for groups bigger than 15 persons, and the house offers plenty of flexibility, as there is a very big room often used to gather many children, who want to sleep together.
The pool is spectacular and has a spa-function. It is fenced, so small children cannot enter un-attended. The terrace area is brilliantly situated, with a great view to the mountains (incredible by sunset) and direct view to the pool area, so you can keep an eye on the children playing in the pool, while you are relaxing in the sun or on the shady cover. The house has all entertainment you can think of; Tennis court, which can also be used for football or volley, a big and safe play ground, table football, table tennis and badminton.
Catalonia - culture and landscape: Geographically and culturally, the splendour of Catalonia is so unique. It has a vast diversity of landscapes ranging from rocky coastlines to long flat beaches, from mountains to plains, and from marshlands to forest. It has great cosmopolitan cities such as the amazing Barcelona with its fantastic art nouveau buildings, or the historical Girona and its great old Jewish quarter. It has small medieval mountain villages at the foot of the Pyrenees and elegant coastal resorts in the sandy shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
Catalonia has a distinct regional identity that borrows little form the rest of Spain. Catalans have their own language, and are intensely proud of their unique art, cuisine, folklore and long history. Ask the Catalans themselves and many will tell you that Catalonia is not a region but a nation.
Situated in the middle of Catalonia, it is easy to visit most of it in half- or full days excursions as variety to the relaxation in the house and by the swimming pool.
