This 4-bedroom, 4.5-bath custom home—featuring two king suites and two queen bedrooms—offers breathtaking 270-degree views of the San Elijo Lagoon and surrounding canyons from nearly every level. Enjoy seamless indoor-outdoor living with a private pool (unheated) and heated in-ground spa, plus direct access to scenic trails leading to Cardiff State Beach. Inside, the light-filled open layout showcases a sophisticated living space, gourmet kitchen, and elegant dining area, perfect for relaxing or entertaining. Just minutes from downtown Encinitas and world-class beaches, this dog-friendly retreat offers the perfect blend of privacy, comfort, and coastal convenience (yard partially fenced; wildlife present). Things to know: The pool is not heated. Fireplaces are not operable due to city ordinance.

Beautiful big house with gorgeous views from every window! Plenty of space for the entire family, or even two families. We loved the location. It's very quiet, and it seems remote, yet it's just a quick drive down to the main road and close to shopping, restaurants, groceries, etc. Beds were very comfortable and we loved the fact it has two living areas, plus a sauna! We did not use the pool or jacuzzi, but the outdoor patio area and multiple balconies are really nice, with panoramic views of the distant mountains, canyons and trails, and city. We also liked the large kitchen area which is perfect for cooking and family get togethers. We enjoyed our stay, and it's a great place to relax!

The house was nice but there were soooo many bugs large spiders specifically . Also the AC doesn’t work on the upper levels so we had to sure to open the windows & doors with the screens to circulate air; pack your allergy meds. Not sure if that would work during hotter times of the year. Otherwise, the house is conveniently located, the house was clean, the pool & hot tub were clean, the view was gorgeous, the wildlife was beautiful. The games were also in working order and kids had a great time. There were ample towels both for the pool and to shower with. The property manager was also readily accessible and responded quickly.

We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed the gorgeous views, our convenient location, the clean pool/hot tub, and that the kids had a great time with the games. We strive to provide a comfortable experience, and I’m glad our property manager was able to assist you quickly. I want to address your comments regarding the temperature and local wildlife, as they are very important for future guests to know. As outlined in our listing, our home does not have central air conditioning. We are located in a natural, rustic setting where opening windows and doors allows for wonderful cross-ventilation, but we understand this can be uncomfortable during peak heat times. We do provide fans. Regarding the wildlife, because of our beautiful, secluded location, "city bugs" and spiders are common neighbors. We take cleaning very seriously and have a regular pest control service, but we are in their natural habitat. We apologize for the surprise—we will have our team do an extra thorough sweep of the exterior to manage webs. Thank you for the advice on allergy medication, and for highlighting that we provide ample towels! We hope to welcome you back for another fun, nature-filled stay.

We had issues on arrival - no hot water nor gas for cooking. Owner arrived next day but issue wasn't sorted till later in the day so cold showers and no coffee! The place is great and location perfect but maintenance needs sorting. Loads of cigarette ends from previous tenants we assumed and things not working (sink plugs, sockets) also there is NO Air conditioning in the middle or upper levels. The property manager is hard to connect with - had to use the emergency service after 5pm Outside needs a good clean

I can’t explain how bad this is compared to the photography on the listing. I’ve never complained in one of these rentals before but felt compelled to do so in this instance. It’s pretty beat up, more like a frat house, master tub was a mess, layout is horrible, feels unsafe and if you complain, it just doesn’t matter. Nobody cares. Spend the money and tough luck if you travel across the entire county and don’t like it. We have a “policy” on refunds they say. What that means is “all sales are final”. That’s in keeping with the low-rent, discount rack place this is. Find a Motel 6, you will enjoy that far more.

Canyon Paradise is Fabulous

Our group of friends had a superb time at the Canyon Paradise. The privacy, tranquility and amount of space for everyone was so relaxing that nobody wanted to go to the beach. Was much more fun at the house with the great pool. Everything worked. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend!

Great house, very spacious, kitchen has everything you need! Huge dining table for everyone to sit. Lots of outdoor areas to enjoy the sun and the view. Towels were soft, spaces were clean, neighborhood was private and quiet. We loved the pool and hot tub! Two rooms have king beds which was so nice for our 6ft guys. The boys loved the music room and indoor basketball game. Plenty of space for game night. I loved the DVD & record collections. Somebody is super lucky to own this place! Property management had great communication and answered all questions very quickly. Would definitely stay here again

We all loved the place. Views were amazing and place was clean. The pool and hot tub were great. Hot tub didnt work at night a couple times for some reason. The only issue was there were a lot of ants if food or trash was kept out. We put food on the counter and 20 mins later there were swarms of ants.Buy the liquid ant bait traps. I dealt with this before at my house when i moved in and this took care of it

Magical

This house has it all. All the amenities plus the view to go with it. It was surprisingly clean. We will definitely come again!!!When we got to the house we had issues getting into the house. Vacasa was not much help however Gregory and the guy who came out were superb!!!

The house was enormous. Check in/out was easy. I was very disappointed in the hot tub. The hot tub was the main search criteria that I used to find the house in the first place, so the fact that it did not get hot was very disappointing. I thought it was bc I wasn't preheating it far enough in advance, then maybe I should have the cover on - no matter what I did, it did not go above 90 degrees which is not hot. By the time I realized it just didn't work, it was time to go home so I did not contact the property management about it. The sink drain in the master bathroom was clogged with beard trimming hair and did not drain properly. I tried to clean it out but I couldn't get the stopper out and also it was disgusting I didn't want to touch it so I just left it. Overall the house was really great. I would rent it again if I knew the hot tub would work. There was a coyote that got stuck on the patio and pool area the last night we were there! He left a big pile by the pool and eventually he got out on his own. Other nights we definitely heard coyotes. Also saw hummingbirds praying mantis. The area is stunning, the house has lots of great things provided like games and a cot and so much closet space. Location is great, Encinitas is such a magical place and everything is less than 15 minutes away. Also very easy from airport in San Diego. Would be better if 1-2 of the rooms has 2 twin beds instead of queens or kings so friends/siblings can share a room but not a bed.
