We had a great stay. The house has nice views from the front and back porch. Right across from the beach access made this a great house for us with our two children.

Best deal on the beach!!

Really enjoyed the location. We arrived to very clean rooms. My wife loved the back deck with view of the marsh. I enjoyed the close proximity to beach access and really liked the ocean view from the front porch. We will definitely be back to stay again

Loved sitting on the porch. Even though it was second row you could still see the beach and enjoy your morning coffee.

Home away from home

This rental met our needs and was comfortable for our family. Minor complications were handled quickly and kindly by Vacasa.

Sea Shell Meca

For 42yrs I have visited Holden. Rented many homes on the island. This home met all our needs. Especially shell hunting. Even seen a deer in the marsh. Was a truly Blessed experience! There were NO mosquitoes!!!!! Thanks to the owners for sharing their home.

Some much needed beach time.

The Last Resort provided me, my daughter and her two friends the perfect location to relax, connect and laugh. The house was clean and had the best stocked kitchen I’ve ever seen in a rental vacation home. I alerted Vacasa of a few minor things and they sent someone over immediately to address the issues. The beach access directly across from the house was so convenient. We will rent the Last Reset again.

For a second row house, it couldn't have been located better...right across from public beach access! Unfortunately we were unable to gain access to the washer and dryer. The keys would not work and though we reported it, we received no assistance on site. We also saw a roach downstairs (outside) but also one in the kitchen. Aside from the roach, it appeared nice, clean and well kept.

Last resort

Loved having beds made when we got there also provided towels, dish soaps, laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper etc were fantastic. We got to leave some of our packed items in the car. We are always so exhausted after unloading the car and making beds. I was overjoyed that the beds were made - a great start to the week!!

Great location

There were some misleading things on the web site. I was told there would be adequate linens. There were about 4 towels. There was just 1 dish towel and no dish rags. I was also told there was adequate toilet paper. There was just 1 roll so be aware of these issues. House was adequately clean, but you see where items were dusted around and not picked up to dust under. Furniture is old and not comfortable With these issues though, location is perfect right across from cross walk.

Our apologies that your experience in the home was not the pleasant and relaxing vacation we wish to facilitate for our guests. We apologize for the oversight regarding the cleanliness. We have passed along your feedback to the local housekeeping staff and manager so they are aware of your comments, and can work to correct this for future guests. We are sorry for any miscommunications regarding the number of consumable products provided in the home prior to your arrival. To clarify, we provide our guests with a starter kit of supplies. This includes cleaning supplies, toiletries, and paper products. Once these supplies run out it is the responsibility of our guests to provide any additional supplies throughout the remainder of their stay. Supplies are restocked before each guest. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused during your time with us. Thank you for letting us know there is room for improvement and we hope we have the opportunity to host you for a more comfortable stay.

Great Holden Beach Cottage

We loved this little beach cottage. The interior was mostly original, but clean and functional. We really like the vintage feel, so we didn’t mind the wood paneling. The view of the marsh off the back deck was amazing. We had a few periods of rain during our week and we really enjoyed watching the wading birds when we couldn’t be at the beach. The front porch has a nice view of the ocean looking down the beach access road. The beach was not crowded near the house all week because the density of houses was much lower around there compared to other parts of Holden Beach. Our only real complaint was with the check-in process. The Vacasa office is on the mainland and you have to pick the keys up at the office at 4pm on your day of check-in. The traffic is really bad from the mainland to the island on check-in day, and you get caught in the middle of it when you pick up the keys. It would be nice if the house had a combination lock so that Vacasa could just email/text the combo to you at check-in time. That would allow you to get to the island early and dodge the traffic.

House is exactly as promised and shown in the photos

House Pros: - Strait shot across the street to the beach -Outside shower & spigot w/ garden hose to rinse off - Plenty of dishes/pots & pans/utensils to make just about any meal - House is incredibly CLEAN with plenty of towels for guests. -Vacasa team is very responsive House Cons : -We had internet connection issues. Vacasa was great about sending incredible/amazing support but spent more than a few hours on the phone w/ internet & router providers over 3-days to resolve the issue w/help from Vacasa team. Am sure this is not a repeatable - not really much that could be done. But maybe check the systems before new guests arrive. - Street in front of the house is quite busy. Nothing that can be done - but traffic starts early and we were super amazed at how many cars go back and forth. No issue to cross the street - just the noise when trying to sleep or sit on the front facing porch w/ the ocean view. Back porch faces beautiful wetlands - some minor mosquito bites. -Each room has a full size bed and a twin bed. May be a challenge if you are used to sleeping in a larger bed or are a taller/larger person.
