We really enjoyed our stay. Location was perfect, being only a couple blocks from Main Street. Stayed 3 nights. Our kids, 7 & 11, enjoyed playing in the snow at the park and checking out the stores and ice cream on Main Street. If the weather had permitted, we could have easily walked to Main Street and any of the restaurants. Rental was clean and well stocked with everything needed for a stay. It has been recently renovated and was very cozy. We look forward to getting to come back in the summer.

Great location that is walkable to downtown Blowing Rock. The condo was clean with updated decor. Host was very responsive to questions. We weren’t in town to ski so I can’t make any comments about that.

We have stayed in other units at Royal Oaks over the years. This one was nicely appointed and comfortable with adequate amenities for a four night stay. However. a couple of maintenance items to note. The freezer door handle is broken. The broken handle has clear tape on it showing that this is not a new issue. Secondly, the screen door will not shut when the interior door is closed. Otherwise, everything functions as intended.

Excellent location, and cute apartment. Comfortable for the four of us. Walkable to the downtown with shops, restaurants, etc. Appears freshly painted with nice touches. Gas fireplaces warms and sets a nice glow. The kitchen was stocked with everything (and I mean everything!) you could need. The VRBO description and photos were accurate. Ample parking. Note that the apartment is up 2 flights of exterior stairs (might be a problem for travelers with mobility issues or too much luggage). It seemed inapproriate that the host left an envelope for "tips", since we already paid a 99 cleaning fee when booking a 2 night stay.

Thanks for your review. I’m sorry you had an experience you didn’t expect. We immediately sent professionals over the Christmas holiday to alleviate issues you alerted us to, but they couldn’t verify or validate the complaints. Nonetheless, we still issued you a partial refund. In response, you left the unit a mess and broke the handle off our freezer. We believe in honest communication and respect and are sorry it wasn’t reciprocated.
