Wow! We're allowed 10,000 words to describe our astonishing property! Really, all you have to do is look at 10 photographs and you'll get a pretty good idea, but please allow us to briefly (don't worry, less than 10,000 words!) describe the gem that is the Green River Bridge House.
Located in the tiny hamlet of Green River, at the intersection River Road and the Jacksonville Stage Road, the 200-year-old bridge house was once the center of a bustling little village. Directly next to the inn sits a covered bridge. There was a mill at one time, and the bridge house, built about 1832, was the town's post office for decades. Remodeled in 2009 as a bed & breakfast, the inn has earned a reputation for personalized service, great food and a setting that is literally the most beautiful spot in the world. These aren't our words, these are the reactions of guests and patrons to this exquisite location. Imagine:
A 200-year-old Vermont covered bridge
A dam made of timber and stone spanning the rocky Green River and forming the prettiest swimming hole you've ever seen.
A totally rural setting in the middle of the Vermont forest, with winding dirt roads, themselves gorgeous trails for hiking or riding
Farms and meadows and scenery that begs to be photographed or painted or simply gazed at in peace
And smack in the middle of this spectacular scenery sits the Green River Bridge Inn.
With three beautiful and comfortable guest rooms the house comfortably accomodates six, with one additional bed available if needed. You'll have the run of the house; it will be your home. Included in the public spaces on the main floor are the main dining room, a cozy bar for wine and beer, and a lounge room for reading, remote work or fiddling with the jigsaw puzzle.
Just off the dining room is the inn's heart, the beautiful kitchen. Guests may utilize the refrigerator, prepare their own meals or opt for the home-style, delicious comfort food prepared by our chef. Or just sit around the spacious kitchen island enjoying an espresso or a bowl of Ben & Jerry's.
The Green River Bridge Inn is no Hampton Inn. We're pretty far out in the country, about 20" drive to the closest Burger King or Dunkin'. We're managed by a little team that does our utmost to ensure a guest experience to the highest standards.
Included in the rental is on-site support staff, including a chef for delicious meals and housekeeping support.
In a new listing on VRBO or any platform, we are offering rental of the entire inn for family occasions, retreats, getaways, corporate events, art workshops, religious groups, any small band of travelers needing a luxurious home for a weekend, weeklong stay or monthly rental.
