Very comfortable house & well organized. The location was great. Close to many towns & hiking trails. Great kitchen with nice appliances & all pots pans needed for cooking. Also they had many spices which was nice. Clean hot tub. I would recommend this rental

We had a wonderful stay in North Carolina at Fern Hollow Cottage over Thanksgiving! We love Sapphire and the surrounding areas. There is so much to do and see for our family. The cottage was a fantastic place to stay and is wonderfully accommodating. Being a short-term rental owner myself, I have become fairly critical of places that we stay with our family. Fern Hollow Cottage was the nicest, cleanest, and most well-equipped property we have stayed at in recent years. It checked all of our wants and needs when searching for a mountain house and we would gladly return in the future!

The house was super nice !! I Loved the Master Suite & the deck off of the Master was Wonderful with full sectional couch & fireplace !! The River running below was the perfect touch for optimal relaxation. Would definitely stay here again !!

Wonderful Property

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful home in Sapphire, NC! The property was clean, well-appointed, and perfect for our family getaway. The location is peaceful and convenient to hiking, waterfalls, and nearby towns. We especially loved the outdoor space and cozy living area. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Private in the mountains

The home was perfect for our family, giving lots of space for a family of 6 plus a baby. We particularly enjoyed the outside upper screened patios. The kitchen was easy to get around and was well equipped. Bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. We had a great week and would definitely book this property again!

Beautiful Mountain Retreat

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely home! The amenities were amazing and the open living space made it fun for our siblings and spouses to gather. We love the area and the fall colors outside were amazing! Overall a grand time was had by all!

Amazing Cabin!

The cabin is absolutely beautiful. We were only there for a short weekend for my son's wedding, but the cabin is so roomy, equipped with anything you may need. Hope to make another trip to the area in there future & would love to stay & enjoy the cabin more than we were able to on this trip.

Great Location in Sapphire/Cashiers

We really enjoyed this sweet cabin. It was perfectly planned for a family getaway, and was very clean. My teenagers enjoyed the downstairs game room and the blue bunk room upstairs. The huge TV in the family room was perfect for watching football. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. We will definitely be back.

Sapphire Getaway

Escaping the Hilton Head heat and visiting the area for the first time we found the accomodations just right for our needs. The fact the residence allows for access at Sapphire Valley Resort (SVR) made our stay just perfect. SVR has a gym, 2 pools, zip line, golf discount at Sapphire National, among many other benefits. Home located 1.2 miles from Sapphire Natl golf course; SVR resort (gym etc) 5 minutes away. Couldnt ask for more We used the hot tub on back deck most days 5-10 minutes. It was a welcome benefit to the house. Nan the caretaker was accessible at all times and took care of some minor issues we had upon check in re maintenance and cleaning. We were in touch with the owner on occasion before and after check in. To their benefit they were very prompt in their responses which we appreciated a great deal. Overall we loved the house and would welcome staying there again if and when back to the area. Home located in Sapphire - easy drive to many excellent restaurants and grocery store.

Magical family retreat in Sapphire

Our family, with children ages 9 and 7, spent our 6th summer in the area, and Fern Hollow was our favorite property ever. The listing had me at the private master fireplace on the screened in porch, and it did not disappoint. Some favorite things: the kids’ blue bunk room, replete with reading lights in the nooks and individual bunk black-out shades (kids sleeping well into morning = happy mom and dad enjoying their morning coffee on the porch); playing board games by the porch fireplace; roasting s’mores at the fire pit; watching the kids frolic by the stream; comfortable meals at the big kitchen island or huge dining table; playing the ring swing on the porch (literally hours of old fashioned entertainment daily); and easy jaunts down the mountain into town, both Sapphire and Cashiers. We also explored Pisgah, tubed in Rosman, and boated on Lake Glendale. Easy day trips from this location, which is private and feels remote, but is just 5 minutes to the highway. We were so comfortable thanks to high quality bedding and an overall homey feel. There were only 4 of us, and we easily could have had another family with us with room to spare. The hosts messaged us as soon as we booked with a guide and personal recommendations. Knowing we had their direct contact info and not just some big rental company also made us feel very comfortable and well cared for. Loved our #RetreattoFernHollow and intend to return!

Great floor plan

With split bedrooms upstairs and a separate en-suite downstairs this floor plan works well for extended family or friends. The kids loved the bunk room. The kitchen is large enough to accommodate several ‘cooks’ and the dining table provides a great place for a group. The dining porch is a wonderful place to enjoy eating alfresco and we loved spending time on the gathering porch. The fire pit area is perfect for evening fire/s’mores/etc. We used the hot tub twice and enjoyed it as well. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking items and dinnerware/silverware although I suggest bringing plastic drinking cups as glassware is limited. There are plenty of linens/pillows/towels and even lots of beach/pool towels for everyone. The owner/property manager answered questions quickly. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful house in the beautiful NC mountains!

We had a wonderful time staying at this property. So nice a time in fact that we would easily add it to our list of favorite rentals. The house was immaculate! It felt like we were staying in someone's house and not a rental property at all. The towns of Cashiers and especially Highlands are so nice. We were rained in for some of our three day weekend but we still had so much to do that it didn't hamper the trip at all. We thought we would make more use of the resort amenities, but the arcade was expensive and the kids preferred the hot tub at the house to the indoor pool. They also loved foosball and the amazing bunk beds. We did have a couple of instances where we needed to contact the owner/manager (fire place not working and stray pit bull on property). Issues were resolved though. Overall, amazing trip!

Cozy Mountain House

This was a great place to stay with my sisters and their husbands. There was an issue with internet and cell service. It may have been our carrier . The house was clean, cozy and roomy... highly recommend!

Wonderful Vacation Spot!

We truly enjoyed our time at this beautiful home. It came with every amenity possible, everything worked, and everything felt so clean. The location is stunning, there is plenty to do at the home that you don't even need to leave but plenty of options regarding entertainment if you do want to get out for a bit. This was our favorite VRBO rental yet!

Great Weekend Trip

We spent a long weekend here, it was fabulous. Well appointed with everything you need. Enjoyed the sounds of the creek and the outdoor fireplace is wonderful. The kitchen is well appointed and the house is just wonderful.

Everything you could ask for!

Beautiful, luxurious cabin in a tranquil setting. Cabin was beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, with attention to every last detail to make it the most well-equipped vacation property I think I’ve ever stayed!

Christmas in the mountains

It was a great Christmas vacation with family. The weather was frigid the 1st few days but we staying inside & played games. The house was beautiful inside & out. The kitchen was well stocked & beds were comfortable. We had slight problem when the wifi went out (due to extreme weather) but we were able to get in touch with owners who helped us get everything reconnected. Overall we had a great vacation.

Perfect Getaway

It was the perfect place for our annual weekend away with old college friends. The house was actually bigger than I think I realized when we rented it. There would be plenty of space for a large family gathering. Kids would love the bunk bed room and foosball table. Add in the hot tub, fire pit, and clean, well-decorated, well-stocked house and you really have everything you need!
