My wife is a local artist, and I am an engineer/musician. We lived in the Washington DC area for 35 years, and I retired from US Navy civilian service in 2014. We had a second home in Lancaster for about 10 years, and decided to live here permanently. My band is called Wild Self. Alana still teaches calligraphy and fashion camps at Glen Echo Park outside of DC, and set painting and design From time to time. We love our sanctuary here in Willow Street, and for us every day feels like being in a resort. Sharing it to inspire others was part of the plan from the beginning because we always loved to entertain. We took over three years of careful planning to create our space, so it would be truly one of the best places to visit in the WORLD, not just Lancaster. Your stay being absolutely wonderful is so important to us. And we are humble. You help us if you would like to leave a suggestion or have a critique or even what you liked best about your stay. Our friendly dog, Coal is NEVER in the room, and corralled when outside away from your garden space. Care is taken to make his presence unobtrusive. We love to meet you but if you are the private type, we get that too and follow your lead on that. I have a tiny “shop” with post cards, handmade origami cards, tee shirts, posters, fine art and other gift items. Just request and I can make it available for you to peruse during your visit.
