There were 7 large live wasps in the upstairs bedroom, right above the bed, when we arrived. 2-3 more in the loft area. Can’t imagine what could have happened if we arrived late and just went to bed. Someone came and sprayed wasp spray on the outside deck to try and resolve the issue. Didn’t. Their idea of a resolution was to give us a can of wasp spray and literally wish us luck. When wasps continued to get in, we wete asked what the source of the problem was. (Pretty sure that is their job to determine that.) We were not offered a different, safer cabin. Basically expected to deal with the constant threat of being stung. Luckily, the wasps seemed to stay in the upstairs, but we were unable to use that bedroom at all. Also, the loft opened to the living room below, so we were constantly checking the furniture to make sure one didn’t drop down from above. We were not able to relax due to the constant wasp hunt. (My son has allergy induced asthma, btw, and has never been stung) We told them this. Still just excuses and a “deal with it” attitude. Just absolutely ridiculous, considering the rate we paid. We were minimally compensated. We will never stay with this establishment again. They had no desire to eliminate the problem or make things right. Just kept making excuses for why the wasps were there. Said it was an act of nature beyond their control. Would not acknowledge that it was a maintenance issue, as there was clearly a nest close by, if not in the roof. We had to ask for a sensible refund, and at that, were treated as though we were being unreasonable. Just a complete lack of professionalism when it came to customer service. Completely unacceptable!
