The Space:

Find a timeless coastal retreat at this three-bedroom Fort Bragg cottage, a welcoming family home with a sun-splashed deck with outdoor shower, a beautiful tree-lined property, and wonderful access to nearby towns, beaches, and ocean bluffs.



This quaint home sits on an open, grassy property, right on the edge of lush woodlands and the eastern reaches of MacKerricher State Park. Head four miles south into downtown Fort Bragg to hop on board the Skunk Train or marvel at the treasures on Glass Beach, spend afternoons exploring the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens seven miles south, and take short walks down to MacKerricher's ocean bluffs to look for passing whales and watch spectacular sunsets.



With wood floors including newly installed LVP flooring, large windows, and thoughtful, comfortable furnishings, this cheerful cottage is full of bucolic charm. Spend foggy mornings reading on the plush sectional sofa, cozying up by the electric fireplace, and flipping pancakes in the full country kitchen with natural wood cabinetry, standard appliances, and a dishwasher.



Take daily excursions to the artsy village of Mendocino (14 miles south) and other breathtaking stretches of California Highway 1, and return home to unwind in the sunshine on the deck. Set the dining room table or the patio table for dinner, and linger outside with a bottle of wine to watch the stars fill the night sky. Back inside, you'll have a cable TV and Starlink WiFi to bring the evening to a relaxing close.

We’ve been staying at Parkside for several years now. It never disappoints! Clean, spacious, appliances all work properly, plenty of dishes, cups, bowls, etc. and beds are extremely comfortable with spacious rooms.

A family gathering and the house was perfect except one minor thing. The dryer did not work but it was no issue because we went downtown and use the laundry mat and walk around for a bit. Highly recommend and the location was perfect.

My 3 adult children and I stayed at the Fort Bragg Cottage during Mother's Day, and it was lovely! We stayed for 3 nights. The house was very spacious and yet cozy. The distance to the beach was perfect! Only about a 10-minute walk max! The first night there, we were even greeted by the friendly neighborhood bear! That was wild, but exciting! The house was clean, the host was very easy to contact, and the location is the best!

The house was wonderful, and had all the amenities and kitchen supplies we needed. Check in was easy, BBQ grill worked well, refrigerator/freezer was plenty big enough for our week's worth of groceries. Washer/Dryer was great. The only real problem we had was that the smallest trash bin was "broken" into twice during the night. The first time, we forgot to tie the rope to keep the lid closed. (Our fault for that.) The 2nd night, we did do that, but the critters still got into it. The 3rd night, we got another piece of rope to hold the lid closed, and that keep them out of it. Some instructions about what to do with the trash container, and what not to put in the trash would be helpful, as this system is a lot different than our trash management at home. The recycling bin was great, the critters also got into the green trash waste, but didn't scatter that around like the other trash. (Which we had to pick up.)Our dog loved the backyard and was happy to roam around on her extended leash, while we cooked and sat out on the back patio. It was amazing to wake up or come home and see numerous deer feeding in the front and back yard. The house is within half a mile walk to the beach, and close enough to walk to MacKerricher State Park. We would definitely book here again in the future.

Great house for family vacation

Family trip

The house was really nice, clean and welcoming. We didn’t spend a lot of time there but we did enjoy the area. A short walk took us to the beach and a paved path for longer walks.

Parkside was just the perfect place to relax, rejuvenate, enjoy the coast, buy unique gifts at the local shops, and dine at local eateries. This charming cabin, located just outside of Ft. Bragg, has everything you need to feel at home away from home. We will definitely be back.
