Your Mexican Oasis in quaint Chelem Yucatan close to the Gulf

Our Hummingbird Suite is comprised of a private lounge/small living room with smart TV, etc. A separate bedroom with king-size bed is connected by the jack n jill bathroom including bidet, river rock shower, hand carved stone sink and more. Both rooms have sliding doors and overlook the garden and pool on the ground floor. The bedroom has bamboo pillows, bamboo or cotton sheets, bamboo cover. There is an AC inverter with remote in both rooms as well ceiling fans and an oscillating stand fan. Custom-made furniture along with an antique piece, handmade onyx and wicker lamps, as well as Talavera ceramic accents. Soothing green tones, and a huge red-flowered, hummingbird bush right outside the door where many birds come to feast daily, provides a soothing atmosphere along with the hammock chair right outside the door. The pool has a huge waterfall feature as well as a sitting area inside the pool.
Fully walled- in with outdoor lighting, plentiful gardens, including a lime and a chaya tree to be picked.
The communal space consists of a very large comfortably furnished living area, large smart TV, books, games, cards, videos. The fully appointed kitchen provides a large working space as well as a six person live-edge slab wood table in the eating area. Two burner induction stovetop in the island, as well as a six burner chef’s gas stove/oven. Accompanying appliances are: glass tea kettle, air fryer, toaster oven, handheld mixer, immersion mixer, baking needs, two slow cookers/crockpots, toaster, many herbs and spices, along with all the usual kitchen supplies. There’s also a powder room tucked in the corner.

Just 3 minutes outside of the small fishing village of Chelem, El Oasis is a 10 minute drive to Progresso, where there are all the infrastructure comforts you may wish for: hospitals, restaurants, shopping, banks, recreational activities, etc.
The international airport of Merida MID is 45 to 50 minutes drive. (We can recommend a reliable, English/Spanish speaking, shuttle driver who has reasonable fees). The city of Merida is loaded with theatre, museum, and concert attractions, shopping from small tiendas to major malls; a diverse foodie scene for the budget, conscious up to the fine dining experience; multiple hospitals with the latest technology & world renowned doctors; parks, zoos, historically varied architecture, along with cultural wonders, UNESCO heritage listed sites and lovely cenote (sinkholes).
Let’s not forget the entire area is dotted with ruins and sites of the Maya with the nearest Maya civilization ruin, including swimming cenote and small museum of Dzibilchaltun (includes the Temple of the seven dolls) is roughly 20 min from Chelem.
Our quiet town of Chelem has welcoming, locals and experts alike while offering fresh fish, veggies, and fruits. Markets are abundant and Chelem, Progresso and Merida.
