Worst VRBO experience

This "apartment" is in the walkout basement of the owners home as stated. There is NO soundproofing between the floors and they have an active family of 5, 3 children and 2 adults, upstairs. They are awake by 7am and many nights still active upstairs at 2-3am. There is NO independant HVAC controls in the basement so with the temps outside being in the 90's - 100 degrees we froze as the airconditioning system ran continually. We frequently had to open the door to warm the unit up. There was no soundproofing in the mechanical room for the house, which happened to be right in the center of the "apartment", making the noise level horrible in the unit. To spite the constant running of the airconditioning, the apartment was extremely damp. All the bedding, towels and our clothes felt damp during the whole stay. For a 2 bedroom apartment stating it sleeps 4, there was only one very uncomfortable couch and a bar height table with 3 stained bar chairs for any seating in the whole place. The "master" bed mattress was so noisy that even rolling over in the night woke up both people sleeping on it. It sounded like sleeping on crunching popcorn or Styrofoam. There were open and 1/2 eaten food items in the cupboards and fridge, let alone 1/2 used lotions and personal care items in the bathroom. We killed over 20 spiders, a cricket and many tiny crawling bugs in the bathroom. while at times feeling like we were being bitten by something. The entrance was a flight of concrete stairs down the side of the outside of the house, with rock along side them that had all shifted down the incline and solar lighting that was broken and non functional along side them. This lead to an unkept back yard with weed filled flower boxes and a dirty covered "patio" with stained chairs and chaise. The owner was obviously aware of the HVAC issue and also the noise factor as during our 2 encounters with her, both were brought up. She also states no pets. Though during our stay we were all bothered by allergies, thinking it was just the dampness and dust downstairs. On our last day we took out our trash only to find cat food containers disposed of in the trash. Think we knew our triggers at that point, there is no independent air circulation system either. Had we had ANY other option during our stay we certainly would have taken it. Instead we stayed away from the apartment every day and only came back to "sleep".

Road Trip to Colorado

Really enjoyed the location and convenience of the property location. The place was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. When in the area we will stay again. Would definitely recommend to our friends and anyone looking to review this property.

Comfortable and Quiet

My Dad and I were in town for a family wedding and needed a place with two bedrooms. This lovely converted basement was perfect for our needs. Sparkling clean, comfortable, and quiet, in a beautiful residential neighborhood. And the bathroom and shower are fabulous!

The location of the property is fantastic in relation to all the needed amenities! Anything you could want or need is close. Very nicely kept and super friendly! Would definitely use again!

Excellent place to stay

Jen was an exceptional host. Everything was as described in the unit, very clean and comfortable. Only complaint would be the sound of people walking around late at night from upstairs but nothing more than expected when renting a basement. I would recommend this rental. Close to the Rockies and the city.

Sweet little spot

Super cute just a couple little things that can’t be helped. A little noise from upstairs and very low water pressure in kitchen and mattress 8 out of 10 firm, a little stiff for me. Otherwise a perfect, reasonably spacious well thought out spot. Hosts all very nice!! Love the air conditioning!!!!!
