Great family getaway

Lovely place to stay

We loved our stay here! The cottage was clean and beautiful, and it's minutes away from the beaches and shops. We could not have asked for a better location or home to stay for our trip. Highly recommend!

Perfect place for Summer vacation

This property is perfect for a Summer family vacation. The proximity to the state park and South Haven makes it perfect. The backyard fire pit lends itself to great summer nights, and having wood available is a bonus!

Great location

Very neat and tidy. We loved the quieter location away from downtown, but quick walk to Dunes and short drive to State Park, Downtown and N. And S. Beach.

Great girls trip

A group of three of us stayed at this property. We enjoyed its cleanliness and amenities. We watched the sunset at van buren dunes each night & spent some time in south haven. Would stay again

Great weekend getaway

Beautiful place to spend time with your family and friends. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and the patio. We’ll be back when the weather is hotter to try the beaches near by. Thanks for everything!

Perfect Location

Cute little cottage, perfect for our mini getaway. Centrally located close to North Point and Van Buren State Park and just a short drive to the many beaches of South Haven. Enjoyed the firepit at night and the beaches during the day. Beautiful area with plenty to do. Will definitely be back!!

Cottage near south haven

Nice property. Met our needs. Outdoor space was fantastic. A little further from downtown south haven (8 min drive) then I would have liked but overall great place.

Property as expected, great place, met my needs

This property was great, 4-5 miles from downtown South Haven and many beaches, we visited the state park, South Beach and Parkard Park Beach, all nice and easy access . Close to meijer and Walgreens if needed. Quiet area, great little party story across the street has a little bit of everything. Would stay again, my family enjoyed !

Good place for families.

The overall experience was very good. The place was neat and well-appointed, and we appreciated the outside eating facilities. There was some difficulty with the key holder box, but it was being addressed by the owner. Reasonably priced, within a5 minutes of South Haven.

Great Beach Stay

Location was great as just down the road from Van Buren State park beach access. Know that right now the steps are blocked so getting down to beach and back up after is a bit more tricky. We visited a couple other beach access points that were close by as well. House is very nice. We grilled our dinners there, and enjoyed a fire one night.

Always a lovely experience

Naturalist

If you are a nature person, this is your spot! Beautiful coastline, and a bounty of wildlife especially for bird watchers. The property owner was extremely attentive and available at the drop of a hat. South Haven is a short drive and a beautiful little town. Lots of places to explore.

Family time

Beautiful little house just about one mile from Lake Michigan. We enjoyed our walks to the beach and getting to climb the sand dunes. House is just around the corner from a small store that had a little bit of everything. Van Buren National Park is just a short walk from the house. Definitely would recommend and would go back again.

Great location

The place is very well stocked and clean. It's super close to a dune and the lake. There's a lot of attention to details in decor and supplies, including a small stash of tampons and first aid stuff. The host left a thank you card for us and a triple berry jam. She also has a guest book on the counter. Just so cute!

Cozy cottage in South Haven

The lot of the Dunes Cottage is spacious and well kept. We especially enjoyed the firepit and the ample space in the back yard. The amenities were plentiful -- extra towels, accessories for the bath, extra flashlights for after dark. The only constructive criticism I would give is to to maybe provide some outdoor lighting, like LED sconces, on the deck. It's hard to see at night unless a fire is already going in the fire pit. Thanks!

Dune cottage review

The cottage is a great location in between Van Buren State park and Downtown South Haven. It was perfect for a couple and a small family who would like to have Grand Parents Included on their vacation. We had difficulty trying to turn on the front room TV and would recommend directions to connect to the cable system. Cottage could also use a dish drying rack since it did not have a dishwasher. Overall we would recommend this home and would like to return some day.

Exactly what we needed

We were back and forth to family in South Haven so it was nice how close this was. This little home is very comfortable and clean and we really appreciated coming back to it each night. The hosts made the home very welcoming and all the little extra amenities they provided were a nice touch. They have a welcome book that was very helpful also. The one thing that we might suggest is lifting the step up to the house in the front. A higher step would’ve helped my husband who had recently had knee surgery. Great little home though, we would definitely rent again here.

Clean, nice, functional

We had a very nice time at the Dune Cottage outside South Haven, even though the weather was less than perfect. The cottage was quite clean and attractively decorated and met our needs. It is a short drive to the beach at the state park and a slightly longer (but still not too far) drive into South Haven. Overall, it was great! My only suggestions would be for kitchen equipment: a colander (for draining spaghetti and washing the blueberries we picked!), a spatula (for flipping those blueberry pancakes!), and a plastic pitcher (for ice tea). Thanks!

The location cannot be beat. A block from the dunes and a 5 minute drive from Downtown South Haven. Get away from everything.
Beaches:
The first entrance "North Point" is about 1 block trail that takes about 10 minutes thru the woods to the water. But you do have to go down dunes to get to the water. The view in gorgeous. The main entrance is about 3 blocks away and parking is literally right at the water. Town is about 10 minute drive.

Take one walk along our recommended trail "North Pointe" to the end. If you look down out favorite will see why we LOVE IT HERE SO MUCH.
