Greetings and welcome to the Ozark Oasis!



I want to be the first to welcome you to beautiful Branson, Missouri. This condo is a retreat in a special part of the country for me. I’m thrilled to share it with others to enjoy while I’m not occupying the condo. My primary occupation is flying as a pilot for an airline based in Texas. My avidness for aviation sparked the theme you will encounter, especially since it sits in the heart of the Ozarks. The decorations you will see throughout the condo were specifically curated to create an immersive and unique experience.



A little bit of history…Ozark Air Lines was founded in 1943 with the first flight from Springfield to St Louis. Initially, Ozark operated as an intrastate airline to bypass the strict regulations governed by the Civil Aeronautics Board. In 1950 the CAB awarded Ozark certification to become a large local/regional carrier (servicing mainly the Midwest). As a result, flights from St Louis to Chicago were initiated. Throughout the late 1950s and 1960s, Ozark was expanding their footprint in the US to the east and west. In 1966 Ozark introduced the DC-9 Jet (the airplane you will see a lot throughout the condo) to their fleet, which was highly advanced at the time. With the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978, the CAB no longer had control over airline routes, fares, and market entry. This shifted to a more competitive, and turbulent industry marked by bankruptcies, but also new opportunities for other carriers. As a result of the act, Ozark expanded further across the US. Becoming less of a regional airline and more of a national airline you might think of today. Ozark ceased to exist when the company merged with larger Trans World Airlines in 1986. Eventually, in 2001, TWA merged with what is now the world’s largest airline, American Airlines.



Fun Fact: The three swallows on the Ozark logo represented on-time flights, referring to the legend of the swallows that return to the Mission San Juan Capistrano in California, each year on March 19th.
