Your cozy getaway awaits you in Lynchburg at this peaceful house built in the 1950s. With four bedrooms featuring a king bed, two queen beds, and a twin bed, guests have plenty of space to relax. Two bathrooms make getting ready easy and convenient. The house stays comfortable year-round with heating and air conditioning. Whether you’re winding down after a day of exploring or enjoying a quiet morning inside, the soothing atmosphere invites you to unwind. An excellent choice for families or groups, this home offers a welcoming retreat. A great place to call homebase while you're away from home. The Blue house is located in the “03” or Boonsboro area of Lynchburg known for its beautiful historical houses.
Situated on a wooded lot across from the Blackwater Creek Trail with hiking, biking, running trails. Close to Liberty University, historical downtown, Farmers Markets, shopping, unique restaurants and coffee shops.
30min from The Blue Ridge Parkway. Minutes from local hospitals. Minutes away from Thomas Jefferson’s home at Poplar Forest and Just over an hour to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello in Charlottesville, Va. many more historical opportunities await you here at “The Blue House.”

Our stay at Danielle’s house was wonderful! The house is old, but it has a lot of charm and coziness about it. Danielle was easy to communicate with and the location of the house (near a beautiful bike trail) was fabulous!

Our host, Danielle, was very responsive with messaging and extremely accommodating and kind. Our family (of 7) slept there very comfortably. House was filled with everything you need to be a home away from home; it was also great to do our laundry throughout our stay. Perfect location for what we needed to do in Lynchburg and Spout Spring! Space felt quiet and safe! So grateful to have spent our time in this grace-filled home!

Pros: Beds were comfortable. Nice vanity mirror. Well equipped kitchen. Great coms from host. Cons: The house is pretty old and tired. Needs some TLC. Doors difficult to open/close. Lots of bugs in bathroom. Some wasps also in the house.

Thank you for your honest review. I am so sorry about bugs in the bathroom and wish you would have let us know about the bugs during your stay. Virginia is known to be a rather buggy area at times throughout the seasons given we are close to mountains and the Black Water Creek is near by as well as our house being situated in front of a wooded area. The winter months however are normally when the insects are in hibernation mode but given the recent cold snap and ice storm with temps in the teens that we encountered followed by very warm temps last week with rain, it seems the ladybugs came out. We do have a monthly maintenance plan in place but these things are out of our control unfortunately during extreme weather situations. As for the house being old and tired. I will be more specific in the description that this side of town, known as Boonsboro, is the more Historic district. Our house was built in the 1950s and has hosted our daughters along with roommates who graduated from LU with masters and have lived here for 8 years. To us it is a cozy, charming house and we love the original “sticky” doors complete with skeleton key holes! It’s all perspective I guess. Up to this point it was word of mouth rental. This is all part of the process I see. We have taken much time to add little details here and there to make our house feel like a home so that others can come and gather and feel the love here. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and again I apologize it wasn’t exactly what you were looking for. Blessings, Danielle
